I just wanted to let prospective buyers and sellers know it is taking DVC a long time to transfer points from the seller to buyer accounts. I am 2 1/2 weeks past closing and our sold points still haven't been transferred out. I contacted Member Administration and they stated they are dealing with a large volume of transfers and it should be done within the next week.

Frustrating because the points from the contract I sold a few months ago were transferred out in 2 days.

It is true. If you look at the resale listing from all the major brokers, you would see many contracts listed as "sold". In fact, the sale volume has been extremely high recently compared to the regular volume in the past. The price has gone up just like our stock market, up up and even higher. BLT used to be at $85, then $90, then $95, and now $100 per point. Some even list them at $110. Why? People have been buying like crazy!

Therefore, all those contracts need to be processed. There is nothing to be frustrated about. First come first serve.

I have bought several contracts recently. DVC does not care for resale, people who are doing the transfer are part timers, they do not have full time employee who is doing the transfer work. Yes they can increase the hours of part timer and get the things done, but resale buyers you are a step child and DVC does not care for you.
Even one of the closing agent said whenever they ask the DVC on any contract that is taking longer DVC's response is by transferring those contracts they are doing you a huge favor, they don't need to do that. Feels to me it is done intentionally so people look for direct purchases

Ugh, not what I wanted to hear as I have a contract that recorded two weeks ago today and there is nothing in our account yet as we head into a long weekend. Last resale was purchased in May, right around the GVF opening and I was told that was why it took 16 days to post to our account. I guess there is always a reason (or excuse) as to why they take so long to do it.

Funny on direct, you actually receive the points before title is put in your name.

Do you have to wait to book for the points to be transferred? We are buying one and closing in December(sellers request). Wondering how soon we will be able to book our late October 2014 trip with 2014 pts. We have a October use year.

Hope it speeds up soon!

I would bet on January, and how late in January based on when you close........you have to wait for the points to be transferred to make the reservation.......

We are waiting to close and then we have to wait to have the points in........sigh

Hang in there...We recently closed on buying a VGC contract and within 10 days, the points were transferred. Maybe we got lucky, but here's hoping yours is done soon!

Our deed was recorded on 8/16/13 and we're still waiting!!! I'm starting to get antsy....

I posted the same thoughts when I was three weeks out!! I'm STILL waiting! Mine was an August 8 record. Things are looking up though...I have an email from DVC giving me a member access code to access the website (once I have my membership # of course). So my letter must be on the way.

Our VGC contract was recorded 8/13 and sent to Disney 8/16. The contract just showed up on our account page yesterday (9/1). No points yet, but I gather it can take a day or two for the points to transfer over. This is our second contract, and it got merged just fine. Same UY, different resort.

So hang in there! The 8/16 closings are coming! :)

I checked my account on Sat (8/31) and the points were transferred out so it took 18 days from the time we closed. I'm still not sure why with the first contract I sold, the points were transferred in 2 days and this took 15. My closing agent said they grab people from time to time to help the person who does the transfers (by herself, part time, by the way) so they must have just cleared out everything they had closed by a certain date last time.

We closed 7/31, deed recorded 8/1 on OCC website and points were in the account 8/17. It looks like the average right now is 2 - 3 weeks.
