I am trying to plan a Budget trip to Disneyland. We have never gone there before. I have turned up the Del Sol Inn as a good no frills Hotel within walking distance from Disneyland. Does anyone have and good or Bad experiences at this Hotel.

No experience at the Del Sol - However we have stayed at the Desert Inn and Suites next door a couple of times.

The Del Sol always has greeter type people out front dressed in Del Sol clothes telling to to have a nice day. (that hotel is right at the crosswalk to Disneyland - so everybody coming up that side of Harbor has to walk by it) Kind of advertising for your next visit I think. So I think they probably have decent customer service.

We've stayed there quite a few times, the most recent being 11/06. It is owned my the same people who own the Desert Inn right next door, but is usually much cheaper. If you make reservations well in advance, you can often get a room for around $60. It is totally no-frills. Just a very convenient place to sleep. No elevators, small pool, and very basic continental breakfast. But the location can't be beat. Plus it is very much quieter than the Desert Inn! If you can't get a good rate there, try the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. It is a couple of doors down Harbor, so it takes a few couple more minutes to walk to the park, but the rooms are ofter $60-70 and are much larger than Del Sol.

I'm looking for next June, and Del Sol is $160, Desert Inn is $109, and Anaheim Plaza is $89 - $99. I think I'm going to be trying Priceline closer to the trip. We don't mind staying a bit farther away and driving, but I really hate to pay over $100 for any of these places!

I hav been trying to find the cheapest rate for the del sol in and it is $320 bucks for 4 nights from getawaytoday.com that is tax and everything.

Del sol inn by calling was 74.95 a night but adding tax and stuff for the 4 nights it came to $354.88

These are rates from dec 8-12 2007

same rates i'm seeing for end of June/July '08 too (although Anaheim Plaza didn't have our dates in the system last time i checked).

Realize it's high season, just so very expensive compared to prices i've seen posted here.

I'm not sure whether they typically inflate the rates for summer to see what the public will pay & then run specials if they can't fill the rooms or not?:confused3

We have stayed at the Del Sol inn a couple of times. I love how convinient the location is and the rooms with 2 beds are very big.

The BIGGEST complaint with the hotel is that the day of check out you can't your car in their parking lot. It is soooooo annoying. I hate having to move my car into the parking structure when I just have paid for a hotel the night before. It drives me crazy. They are VERY annoying about it.

Yes, their parking lot is tiny, and they really won't budge on that.

The rates always post that high in advance. The del sol always has a 1 week window when the price drops to about 70 per night then starts going up as vacancy gets full.I stayed there last june at $62 per night from the 8th-14th.Try travelaxe.com for good rates. We liked our stay. The place is old but great location. The week we were there the were replacing all box springs and matresses.
