defective park only merch. anything I can do?

Im at the parks now. My daughter was here last week and bought a scarf thats only available in the potc store. When she got home she found it had a hole in it. :( is there anything she or I can do to exchange it?
 
Just call the number on the receipt, they are great about sending you a new one!!!
 
If she has her receipt there is a number to call and if se tells the what happened they should ship her a new one - I had something similar happen and was very easily remedied. I may have emailed them and sent a picture and they contacted me? But they were very helpful and easy to work with.

I would think so! We were in Disneyland this past march. We purchased a sweatshirt for our daughter. We got home and washed by itself, just to be safe, and when we took it out of the washer some of the lettering had run and stained the rest of it. We contacted "merchandise guest services" at Disneyland and told them what happened. They sent us a prepaid UPS label for us to ship it back to them and a week or so later we recieved a new sweatshirt. We have it dry cleaned now so it there will be no chance of the lettering running again. I am sure WDW also has a "merchandise guest services" you can contact and I am sure they will be able to help you.:thumbsup2

I arrived home to open up a purchase to find it broken. Calling the number on the receipt did nothing! If you can’t verify it’s not in perfect condition do not buy it! Who wants to fly to Disney, buy a park ticket just to exchange a broken collectible! Disney seems to have something going on internally! Cast members don’t seem happy and don’t have a problem communicating they are unhappy! Not the same....I will no longer add to my collectible collection.

Maybe try again, your experience is unusual.
 
My son bought a park-only mountain banshee that upon arriving home no longer worked. I emailed the merchandise department and they happily sent us a new one. I did have an image of the receipt, but they were willing to take any proof that I was in the park that day.

I had just the opposite happen to me. I bought the Goofy as Darth Vader. When I took it out of the box the lightsaber (the only plastic part) was broken. I called Disney and they asked me to email them a picture. Within a week I had a new figurine and when I called about shipping the old one back I was told "why its broken".
 
I was transferred to a voice mail and have heard nothing back! I’m glad you had a different out come. It appears I’m out the money!

They generally are very responsive and will help resolve your issue. Having called the number on the receipt it's possible they will take up to 72 hours to respond. If you do purchase from the parks in the future, consider having them ship your items home. They do a great job of packing and if anything is awry they will be responsible for it. Besides, then you don't have to hassle getting it home on the plane.:)
