Dedicated Doggie Thread!

Awwwww... I love the dog pictures!

That's my rescue beagle Jessie in my sig. Cute, sweet and very mellow, but not all that bright. :rotfl2:

The are beautiful!! They look so chilled out LOL. I'm very sorry for your loss, how horrible. :(

Thank you, I had a really hard time leaving the house...well actually the dogs for quite awhile after that~I still go around unplugging things before I leave:confused3 They are pretty mellow these days, they have the 7pm chase through the house nightly though!:rotfl2:

How did she manage to housetrain your other dog? Got any tips because I could use all the help I can get!

My Mattie Monkey is still working on the house training thing a year later. He does not like to pee outside for whatever reason, we walk around the complex until he finds something worthy of being peed on. The worst is nighttime. He still poops and pees in his crate at night. Erie has had bed privilidges for a long time, Mattie still does not because I can't trust him. I tried letting him on the bed because I thought he was cured of this only to find out he was pooping and peeing in a corner in my room while I slept! Now it is back to the crate! I thought they were supposed to have some kind aversion to peeing in their crates.

worthy of peeing on:lmao: We were lucky with Jake~he was pretty easy, but I was home all day at that time and anytime he'd "do his business" in the house where I couldn't see him....Daisy would bark at him!:rotfl:

Daisy was NOT as easy~she came from being an outside dog to an inside dog at 2yrs old, and we just had to watch her like a hawk. She would give signs though (sniffing/looking around to see if we were watching her). It's really hard when they're "secretive" about it though!:sad2: Sorry I couldn't be more help:headache:

Every dog is different I guess, kinda like potty-training kids:flower3:

Loving all the dog pictures!!
Keep them coming!

The Boxer puppy in the washer is adorable!! I don't think Gunner would let me do that with him! (we got him from a Boxer Rescue group in Arkansas...thinking about getting another one!)

TLSnell - I have 2 pics of Cookie....I'll get them posted tonight!!

My baby is in my sig. Zoey is a sweet, adorable brat. She is 5 months old and does mostly whatever she wants. She is trying to housebreak, but not very hard. We are working on that with crate training. She has been pretty much broken of the habit of jumping up on people, just in time because she is almost as tall as me on her hind legs, and she packs a whallup..she has knocked me off my balance more than once. Our next hope is that we can stop her from getting up on the table and countertops to grab whatever is there. She ate a bowl of strawberries today that I left on the kitchen counter. :headache: The other night she grabbed a piece of filet mignon off the counter. We are trying to use a training collar, it worked great for jumping on people, but it's hard to catch her jumping up on the counter and have the control in hand.

All that said, she is a wonderful dog. I never thought I would be able to have another Bernese Mountain Dog like my sweet Stella whom I lost in March. I am so glad that I gave in..

There's a picture of her in my signature!
She's a cavalier, now 7 months :]

My Brian looks like her! He's a Cavachon, but you can't even tell...he looks all Cav to me. No fluff on him like his Bichon mother. Maybe he'll change as he grows? He's 9 weeks old.

Wow, hrh disney queen, Zoey is a big girl at 5 months old! I guess Bernese Mountain dogs are large breeds? I'm going to google it now, I love learning about all the breeds.

Shes's adorable. I can just imagine her running off with a filet mignon hanging out of her mouth!:rotfl:

I'll have some more pics tonight, too. My camera battery is recharging right now. Brian had his first bath today, in the kitchen sink, and I took a pic of him. It reminded me of when I bathed my kids in the sink years ago.

She is big...she can stand up and almost look me in the eye..I am short, though..5'1";) Best fed dog in the country, filet mignon for dinner!!

Stella was a little ...well, she was fat..She weighed 90 lbs. That is about average for a Berner.. Zoey weighs 40 lbs. They were raised in Berne Switzerland to pull carts of milk to market..Zoey has that in her..she isn't very good on the leash yet, and can pull me over if we are going down steps..:headache: She really needs some obedience training, but she is having a ball!

I love hearing all the dog stories. I bought a pack of bones and it somehow got knocked onto the floor of the living room. I came home from work today to take them out and Mattie was trying his darndest to take one outside with him. Now, these are those rawhid sticks and are about as long as he is. I kept pulling him away from it but that stinkin mutt nabbed it. I had to toss it back inside the apartment!

Has anybody read Marley and Me? I just got done re-reading it in preparation for the movie this Christmas. It is a must for any dog lover!

How do you post these photos? I want to show everybody my babies.

That book had me sobbing. I am going to be sure to take a box of Kleenex with me to the movie. I'll have to go alone, my DH won't be able to see it, he is so tenderhearted..especially because we had a dog just like Marley..what a goof ball, God rest his soul.

I don't know if I can read it again..:guilty: Maybe just the first half.

There may be more than one way to do it, but this is the way that I am familiar with:

Post them to another site like Facebook, Myspace, or Photobucket. Then right click on the image and click on "properties". It will give you the web address for the image. You will then use the following code:
. Make sure you don't leave spaces.

When our first dog Riese passed away, (14 year old Rottie...biggest love of my life!)...I posted on the DIS and had alot of friends gave me hugs. A very good friend KIMWIM8 sent the book to me. I read it in one day....couldn't put it down! I laughed and cried at the same time!! Can't wait for the movie!

LOVED the book, Marley & Me...saw a preview of the movie today when I took my DS to see Madagascar 2 and it looks really good! :thumbsup2
If anyone is interested, John Grogan's new book is called, The Longest Trip Home.

Does anyone know how to post a picture? :rotfl:

You have to post them on a photo hosting site, I use photobucket but there are others. Then you copy in IMG code to the post on this site.

Love this thread! I have enjoyed the pictures of all of your fur babies. Here is my little bundle of joy. Cleopatra - but we call her Cleo - is a Shih-Tzu. I had always been a big dog person till someone gave (yes, gave as in free) me Cleo, a purebred. Actually this family gave away the whole litter to carefully chosen homes. They said they just wanted to add some joy to our lives!

She's the one on the pillow. The brown and white one is stuffed. ;)
