I will soon be booking for June 2004. I'm hoping to get a dedicated 2-bdrm and a studio (standard view) next to each other at BWV (home resort). Am I hoping for something impossible, and we'd like for my mom and dad, who will be staying in the studio, to have access to the 2 bdrm. If we request, will they make all of our room keys the same - everyone having access to both? One more thing, my dad is a smoker but does not smoke in the house or cars nor will he smoke in the rooms at BWV as a courtesy to everyone else. Should I still request smoking rooms? Thanks!

It will be impossible to get a dedicated 2BR at BWV, as there are only lock-off 2BRs. (There are a few dedicated Studios however.)

While it is possible to get a 2BR lock-off and a Studio next to each other at the BWV, MS cannot guarantee it, but will enter it as a request.

Good Luck!

Hi,

We have a 2bdrm sv reserved for the last week in August. Could someone tell me the difference between a lock-off and a regular room is? Also, is there any chance of getting 2 beds instead of the bed and sleeper sofa in the other room? We're renting pts there for I'm not up to date on accomadations:cool:

A Lock-off is a 1BR with a studio next to it that has a door between the 1BR and the studio...in a regular hotel it would be called an adjoining room. The flexibility is that you have three unit types available from just two units. Since the studio in a lockoff may be a studio by itself, it has the full wet-bar set-up whereas a dedicated 2BR doesn't. I forget why you would want a dedicated 2BR...it may be the two bed deal.

The room keys technically can be coded with the same passcode , but I'd be surprised if they did that. What we've always done is have an extra room key for each room made.

As to the (non)/smoking room...ask him. If he don't care, and you don't care, I'd let DVC decide so the rabid smokers and rabid non-smokers might get their requests. (I'm not trying to start a debate!!!) :D

Who just realized : followed by D doesn't do :teeth: like it should.

IIRC, There are no two queen rooms at BWV - they are all queen and sleeper sofa.

The advantage in having a dedicated over a lock off - kids. If you want to keep your kids in one place, with one door to the outside, a lot of people think dedicated is the way to go.
Also, if you get a lockoff, you will definately have one bed and a sleeper sofa. Many (not all, BCV in particular) of the dedicated two bedrooms have two actually beds in the second bedroom. And some people like the feel of a dedicated two bedroom - which feels more like a two bedroom condo than a one bedroom with a hotel room attached.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the dedicated studios are the ones with the daybeds.

That's correct - the dedicated studios at BWV also have the small daybed. All studios have a queen bed & double pull out. There are also dedicated 1 bedrooms at BWV, so you don't have the connecting door, less noise from the next unit. All 2 bedrooms are lockoffs at BWV - studio + 1 bedroom.

Ok let me get this straight. BWV 2bdrm are ALL lock-off's so therefor in the studio it will have a seperate (sp?) door along with a queen bed with sleepersofa AND a daybed?

This will actually work out better since we have a child under 3 and really didn't want to get the crib. We are a total of 4 adults, 4 kids and 1 under 3.

Thanks all,

No, I don't beleive that is correct. The studio portion of a 2 bedroom lock-off will NOT have the daybed.

Terry---then is it the dedicated 2bdrm with the daybed but my understanding is that there are no dedicated 2bdrm available @ bwv?

A dedicated studio has the extra daybed (only at BWV). All 2 bedrooms at BWV are lockoff 1 bedroom + lockoff studio. So it's impossible to get the daybed in a 2 bedroom at BWV because the daybed sits in a dedicated where the connecting door would be in a lockoff.

In a BWV 2 bedroom you will have a king in the master, a queen sofabed in the living room and a queen bed & double sofabed in the 2nd bedroom. There should also be a pack-n-play in the closet. There have been discussions on if you can request a crib at BWV. Some say no but I noticed when we were there last December a regular crib was sitting outside a room that they were cleaning (I assume the people had checked out and housekeeping put the crib in the hall to be picked up).
