Decreased Mail Days

I just heard on the news that the post office is petitioning the government to decrease it's delivery days to 5 mail days a week. They lost too much money last year, so they want to decrease mail days.

Well, when it comes to swaps and things I ordered... I'm not happy!!

But not getting bills on Saturday sounds OK

Most government agencies only operate five days a week so I guess this falls in line with that.

Well, that will certainly change the "greatness" about their Priority service. They used to advertise that they didn't charge extra for Saturday delivery like the other guys.

I just heard them talking about it on the news and there was some mention of possibly a mid-week day without mail.

Tuesdays. Since, I guess, Tuesdays are the day the least amount of mail is delivered.

So then when we have a holiday on Mondays, there will be three days in a row we don't get mail? Not a real big deal to me, but it might hurt a lot of business who get paid through the mail. Like supply companies and medical offices.

It's kind of surprising that they lost money - you would think with our swap boards alone we would keep them in the black.

I hope it's not Sat, how are people supposed to mail things when they work all week. If we still had a mailbox (darn plow guys) I refuse to leave my mail in the box, too much of a target.

Haven't heard this yet, but I don't watch the news regularly. I vote for no mail on Wednesdays. Seems I only get junk mail and fliers on Wednesdays.
