We have a guaranteed week that we’ve never actually use, but we’re considering it for 2021 now, but it would be after Christmas. Does anyone know if decorations stay up until New Years?

We’ve been during other holidays and it’s been pretty much overnight changes for a lot of them. So I’m wondering if Christmas is the same.

I have twice been to WDW the week between Christmas and New Years and the decorations were up. I do believe they come down very shortly after NYD.

I've been in early January, they may have taken a few things down, but most were still up. I'm sure they don't start until after New Years. That said, it didn't seem as heavily decorated when we went in early December this past year. Maybe they are simplifying a bit?

I agree that the decorations are still up in early Jan. We usually always go in Jan and if we are early in the month we get to see the decorations. Enjoy :tink:

I was gobsmacked to see pumpkins go up half way through our Summer vacation last year. It seemed so wrong, but so does going to a MNSSHP in August!

I have seen that. 90 degrees, pumpkins and leaves. Doesn’t seem right....they’re amazing in October though!

Thanks to everyone for the replies!

Kind of like local department stores decorated for Christmas in Sept. It would be nice to do one holiday at a time but that's not how things work anymore.

Yea pumpkins went up late August one year. Ugh. Decorations are magically put up in each resort all in one night, but not in all resorts the same night. We were at OKW one year and returned to our room about 1am. A tractor trailer was parked in front and a small army of people were RACING in and out with decorations and installing them in all their assigned places. It was pure Disney magic to watch.

The lights in the MK will stay up for the marathon (if it is held). The resorts will be taken down overnight, one at a time.
