Sad, I know.... but the others are right - you just don't do it here at the DLR hotels. In all the many times we have stayed over (and we're DVC, so that happens a lot) we have never seen it done.
Honestly, it's probably because the resort is in the middle of a VERY large city - not in the "safe bubble" that WDW is. The resorts don't have the security that the WDW ones do - it's more open to the public, so just anyone can enter the resorts and the buildings and halls. That brings a bit of hesitation to reveal one's identity in such a public way - something that is very Los Angeleno in nature... people here tend to put up "personal walls" - something not as prevalent in the WDW tourist culture.
On a side note, as someone who would consider doing it in WDW, I think it would seem VERY out of place at the Grand Californian, with the heavy woodwork and style of decor in the halls - almost too nice to even touch (kind of like at the Grand Floridian). The DLH and PP would seem more likely places for it, but it just isn't done.
