Decorating your resort room?

on our trip on June, we are staying @ Pop's and I am considering decorating our two rooms.... we have a birthday, so the theme in the one room will be birthday and the other not sure... I may leave a white board on the door for other dis'er to sign not sure yet... don't know if others are still doing that... :confused3

For those who hang a wipe off board on the door or in the room I found a super cute Disney Princess wipe off board in the dollar spot at Target yesterday. I picked one up for our trip in May. :cool1:

When we went in October of 2008, We stayed at POP and were told by one of the CMs that it doesnt matter what you use to decorate as long as it comes off the windows and doesnt do any damage. We got some Halloween cling ons from the dollar tree. But we saw SO many decorated room windows. From lights, to stuffed animals, to signs, etc. Even on the doors. Very neat!!

I just wanted to say that I just found princess Tiana window clings at the Dollar Tree yesterday. They are for easter, but they are not specific at all. The only thing that indicates easter is two seperate eggs that are on there. :goodvibes

We are going Memorial week so I am thinking red, white, and blue theme. I love having something else to work on now that the "main" planning in finished. (mostly finished, I'll think of something else.:rotfl2:I'm sure!)

Such cool ideas! I never would have thought of room decorating. I know my 4 yrs would get such a kick out of this. Glad this post is still going after 4 yrs :goodvibes

Love all your wonderful ideas!!! Some decorating things and green mickey heads going into my WDW hope chest for Thanksgiving trip!!!!

Our group will be going around Halloween. Thanks for all the great posts...this will be my tenth trip (number three for husband and son) and I am really looking forward to rocking that hotel room window. Our son is two and I want to do everything I can think of to make the trip special!

I love decorating our doors and windows when we go to WDW! We are going back this December and I can't wait to start planning our door and window decorations! I used magnetic printing paper to do our door tags. I found a blank castmembers' tag on Google and downloaded a Disney font to use for our names. Sad to say I didn't see any other door/window decorations while we were there!:confused3
Here are some pictures(yes my kids are hams!!!!)

We will be there on the 4th and I have looked at a few Dollar stores with no luck for Disney stuff.....not giving up yet! ...Come on July!

I have been looking for window clings.

I have now given up. I have looked at Target, Wal-mart, Dollar General, 99 cent store, and Dollar Tree. I have found none.

Anyone with any other ideas.

Yep i am not giving up, even If I have to make them!! JULY could not get here any faster:cool1:

Hi,
A couple of suggestions. If any of you have a friend with a cricut or you yourself have a cricut, you can get the vinyl sheets and custom make them for yourselves. Also, probably around Memorial Day or a little before the stores will begin carrying stuff for the 4th of July...You could also go to Home Depot and get the Mickey Heads in red, white, and blue to put in your windows. We've done this for Halloween and Christmas..
Watch out Disney we will return in August...

I always have the best luck with finding Disney clings at the grocery store (Weis/Kings, in my case) There are always some with the seasonal stuff. Many of my V-day and Easter clings really have no seasonal things in them so I can use them year round.

Hi,

just stumbled across this post....

first to KimberlyE love the window idea w/ the ribbons, etc...:thumbsup2

not sure about this tape thing :confused3 last yr at CSR we decorated my parents room w/ streamers, hanging stuff, etc for her birthday, all w/ tap on the walls and ceiling and window. It was up for the 7 remaining days of our trip. took it all down and totally fine. never an issue...

anyone actually been told not to put stuff up or take stuff down :confused3

Also anyone ever decorate in the interior hall entrance resorts, ie Poly, CR, etc?

Going back in Nov for our 1st trip home to BLT and want to put some signs on our door: Had one made from the DISigns boards and then while we are there we'll be celebrating 2 of DD's b-days plus thanksgiving... was thinking of using blue painters tape on the backs (they will be laminated)

was hoping to put these up...any thoughts?

TIA

Went to the Fabric store(scouting for Deco's) found some Dinsney fabric that I thought would be great for taple clouths, but i am hopeing that they will have fabric for disney themming for the 4th.:worship:

I haven't seen doors decorated at the Poly, CR, WL, or AKL. In fact, at AKL, it would be difficult to decorate the doors since they are covered with an African shield.
