Decorating your resort room?

Yes we were also told to take the towel animals !! You are right they are made out of towels that can't be used again ! They would charge if you took other toewls though!!!

Hi Octoberprincess

Quick question: What did you use to make you Mickey head chain, that is at the top of your window. Do you have a close-up picture of it.

Thanks

I used the paint samples from home depot. I just punched holes in the ears and put ribbon through them. Here's the close up pics.

Thank you...I couldn't decide to what to use to string the Mickey heads together...the ribbons looks like it will work great.

Your windows looked very cute.

Did anyone else see that Disney Floral will now decorate your room for you for a fee? Not that I'd use them for this service, but I guess it just goes to show how popular this is.

We'll be there for halloween and are bringing disney stencils to carve pumpkins with for our balcony!

We have been back for about a week now. Had a great time. But was a little disappointed cause I didn't see any windows decorated at pop while we were there other than a few windows with animal shaped towels etc.:confused3 We decorated our windows but we were on the second floor and in the corner facing the lake (nice view), so I don't think very many people got to see our windows  Hopefully we will see more next year when we go.

So I heard a rumor that if you use tape or window marker on the windows at Pop now you get charged. Anybody know if that is true? I have lots of plans for our April trip for decorating and would hate to change them.

We were there Oct 6th - 10th and used scotch tape on our windows. We were not charged. The marker thing may be another story though. There was another post about someone having to remove their window decor or they would be charged per day. They did use window markers. I would stay away from the window markers to be on the safe side.

I just got back from Music. There were only 3 windows we saw decorated and one was ours! I felt kinda silly, but one of the windows was across the way from us. I will post pictures later when I finish unpacking.

We were at POP In April and noticed the same thing,we have never decorated before( But we are planning to this upcoming April:cool1: ). We also seen alot of towl animals but that was about it.I thought maybe they had restrictions on were you can put it up.:confused3

Do most people at ssr decorate their windows or are people going to think we are crazy?? First trip home in Dec and just wondering?

Depending on the type of accomodations you have there, you'll probably only have a sliding glass door (or two) to decorate. If you have a 2Bdrm or GV, then you will have some windows to work with. Normally only value and moderates have the picture windows you can decorate. However, I have seen many balconies/sliding glass doors at the deluxe and DVC resorts decorated.

I was just wondering if the window clings can be applied on the outside of the window. I bought some at our local dollar store and I was really excited because they were new ones (I had already bought the ones they had prior...which was only Pooh and Princess) Anyway, If I put the 'sticky side' to the inside window, it will look funny from the outside. So should I just put them on the outside? :confused3

I'd say, Yes, go ahead and put them on the outside of the window. Last November I tried to put my Nemo clings (they were $6 at WDW!) color side out on the inside, but they wouldn't stick.. so I put them on the outside and they were fine. I wet a facecolth and wet the window, stuck the cling on, and then used the wet cloth to smooth out any bubbles.. to make sure it was really on well.

Thanks for the info, we have been working on all of our window decorations and my friends and family will kill me if we travel with everything and don't do it. Looking forward to finally seeing my home resort, thanks again for the info.
