Decorating people - I need help - on my last leg of....

My weekend in the bathroom (I decided last weekend that I was going to buy new bathroom rugs for the bathroom on our main floor. So I get home and not only do I have new rugs but I order a cabinet for the wall. Not only was that good but dh told sometime during last weekend that I could paint the bathroom. So Wednesday night I go buy primer and paint. Thursday night I prime the bathroom and I painted it today. Now my dilemma that I know nothing about....

4 years ago, yes I said 4, I purchased a border for this bathroom that fit it perfectly with the theming which I have kept and added to. So my problem is - how long after I paint can I put the border up??? The paint can says you can't wash the wall for at least 7days - so since water is going to be on the border - do I have to wait 7 days to put it up????

I've been taking pics from beginning to end so as soon as I'm done - I'll post them!!!

I put the border up in my bedroom the very next day, it's perfectly fine.
