Hi, My 7 year old daughter told me she saw a youtube video or something where someone was personalizing their magic band with nailpolish glitter and other things. Is this possible? has anyone done this without any ill affects. I tried searching but all that came up was customizing and it was about choosing the colors and names etc.

Thanks in advance

There have been lots of reports on DISboards regarding customizing using nail polish, glitter, and ink. It doesn't interfere with the RFID chip at all! Bling away!:)

Thank you, but it will be her blinging away. This dad doesn't bling! LOL but enjoys letting his daughter bling away on her band. Thanks again

I'm afraid to try this. What if the nail polish looks terrible and then i'm stuck wearing the MB for 8 days? Any tips on how to apply the nail polish?

It appears that a regular application of nail polish works. If you don't like the final look, you can leave your MagicBand in your pocket or ask for a generic gray band when you arrive.

I'll be there tomorrow. My Magic Band is done in cheap glittery nail polish. It holds *very* well, even with nail polish remover to get off some of the mistakes.

I'd tested the color on the end that's going to be hidden when it's closed. That way you could see if you liked the color without having something show later. You could also test it on the side edges as well.

Also, from what I've read, if you really don't like it, I think you can get a regular band at check-in.

It is really, really simple. I have NO talent with nail polish - none of those cute Disney-themed paint jobs on this gal's fingers - but I had no problem blinging my band out and I love the way it looks. I used a sunlight-reactive glitter polish so it is gold sparkles on a yellow band in the shade but turns red with gold sparkles in the sun. I also painted the center Mickey black and used a toothpick to "monogram" it with my first initial. Then I slapped a couple coats of clear polish over the whole thing and called it done.

Very cool!
