We are taking our first WDW vacation as a family - it will be the first trip ever for my 7 yr old DD, my 15 yr old stepson has been but he was very young and doesn't remember much, hubby hasn't been since his own childhood, and last time I was there, AK was just being built! So I was reading these forums and stumbled across a few posts about decorating windows and room doors --- would love some inexpensive, fun ideas commemorating what is basically a first trip to Disney. Needs to pack easily, as we are hopefully flying.
I was even thinking of some Halloween themed ideas, we will be there Sept 24-30, and I know MNSSHP is going on (we are not getting tix for that).

If you have a Home Depot by you, they have Mickey Head paint samples. We use those to make garland to hang on windows. We use ribbon from craft stores and just tape the mickey heads onto the ribbon. You can tape them long ways like regular garland or top to bottom garland (which is what we did). We use magic removable tape and just put it on the wooden frame part. We have never had a problem with the paint peeling or anything like that. The paint samples are free and come in many many different colors. Also towards the bottom of the boards there is Creative Community section. You can look at what others have made and print them out to hang up on doors, windows etc. I know some of them are Halloween themed--we have used these before too! :thumbsup2
Hope that helps! have a great trip!
