I don't know....it's an electric stove if that matters.Have you considered black? I also saw that they make “covers” for stoves for that reason.
One other thought - could this be a fire hazard?
I agree with black
That was my first thought. Electric is even easier than gas to turn the burner on without knowing it.Have you considered black? I also saw that they make “covers” for stoves for that reason.

I’ve seen boards like this with stenciled words, etc. not a plain board. The ones I’ve seen have “feet” that rest on the stovetop. What is the purpose? Simply to show less dust? I think a board on top of the stove looks odd in any color.
Agree. Just dust the stove every once in a while. The board is going to get dusty too. What is the purpose? Simply to show less dust? I think a board on top of the stove looks odd in any color.

It is a fire hazard. I had my ugly apartment stove covered for a while but I took it off when I read about them being a fire hazard. Years ago I had a hand-me down stove from my MIL when I was first married, and after a power outage something happened to the electric starter and it would randomly try to ignite, we got it fixed of course but that made me think about how it could happen to any stove at any time, and if there is a big flammable piece of wood on top of the stove when it happens that's going to be really bad. So I would encourage the OP to be careful. I still use my cover as extra counter space but I never walk away and leave it on the stove.Have you considered black? I also saw that they make “covers” for stoves for that reason.
