Decorating for Christmas/Holiday

Thanksgiving weekend after spending the day shopping on Black Friday :goodvibes

Thanksgiving weekend. I have an annual ornament exchange party usually the first Friday of December so I need to be decorated by then.

We'll put up the lights on the house the first warm day in Nov. The rest of the outdoor decorations go up the week of Thanksgiving.

My husband asks that the indoor decorations not be put up until after Thanksgiving, so as the clock strikes 12:00 the decorating starts. I can't wait until the trees are up.

Thank you everyone!!! I think we'll try to get our outside lights up but not turn them on and probably get our inside decorated the weekend before Thanksgiving..and I can't wait!!!!! Btw, I'm definitely not a troll but that did make me laugh..so thanks!!!! Barbara :)

I try to get my village up the weekend or weekdays before Thanksgiving. It's gotten so huge and is such a pain in the neck to put up. This year's plan is to put the tree up and wrap the lights on Thanksgiving night and decorate the next day. By the end of Thanksgiving weekend, my house looks like a Hallmark shop.

DH laughs at me because we live on an interior lot, but I still try to decorate the outside for curb appeal - when we don't have any curb appeal. :teeth:

My DH always says our house looks like "the north pole exploded". The inside of our house is always really decorated.

We start putting the inside stuff up after Halloween. My DS is 3 & loves it all, so I like to put it up early.

The tree we get the first weekend in December & put it up. The outside lights we will put up when we get home from our Thanksgiving visit back east, so probably the first weekend of December also.

Thats so much nicer than my husband telling me our house "looks like christmas threw up" :santa: :teeth:

I like to be decorated by December 1st!

We put our tree up the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving because we have friends from out of town over Thanksgiving weekend and that is our Christmas. It takes DH one whole day to get the 3 Monorails, switching stations and WDW trains set up under the tree.

This year, given the unpredictability of our weather here (day before Halloween they are predicting upper 60s, wednesday night they are predicting snow  )
We've decided to put up our outside lights whenever it is warm enough during the weekend. So it could be next weekend, it could be Thanksgiving weekend. Or DH and I will be outside untangling lights and hanging them while our fingers turn black and fall off from the freezing cold...

This year I want to add more lights...the neighbors hate us. I want them to hate us more :teeth: And I found a large inflatable that will be the icing on the cake :stir:
I think it's cute: it's Santa in a race car with his pit crew elves...My boys love race cars so they'll love it and I know the evil neighbor lady will hate it..so it's sooo worth it to me!

But we will not turn on the lights until Thanksgiving weekend. The inside will not happen until Thanksgiving weekend as well and probably the tree will be the following weekend since we plan on getting two trees again.

It's also our youngest boy's first Christmas so I plan on going all out, last year I was preggo and unhappy. This year I can see my toes and have more energy!! :woohoo:

Since we will be in WDW from 11-23 to 12-3 (only 24 more days of waiting left) I wan't to get most of my decorating done before we leave. I want to get my main tree up and lit, we will decorate it when we get back. The rest of the house I would like to get done before we leave as well. I think this may all be wishful thinking.
