So at the end of the year I am moving to a bigger place. I want to decorate the house in a Disney style. Got permission from the wife to do so. So I am asking all of you DISers got any ideas? Maybe some pics (if they can be posted) for inspiration?

Personally I just saw the Mickey Mouse Penthouse suite and immediately thought "That is what I want." But I bet that would cost more then a few bucks.

My DD3 loves everything Disney from Mickey Mouse to Cars to Princesses to Pirates. So I dont even know where to begin with her room.

We have a Disney room, it may be a little over the top for some but I love it and it is now the very favorite room of the house! It is mostly Mickey, but we do have Princesses, Pirates, Cars and a few others as well. I need to get the pics uploaded, but I can show you them if you want.

I would love to see them.

I have a few Disney things like my toy collections and a few movie posters from when I worked as a projectionist.

Want to get alot more.

We have a Mickey family room, Mickey bathroom, Nemo bathroom, & the kitchen is getting there.

I order a lot of the furniture & home decor items from Disneyshopping.com when they have them. We've got Disney mirrors, shelves, magnetic whiteboards, a coffee table, end table, and I could go on & on.

We've also got some Disney doors (a Mickey, and a Nemo). Those are the absolute coolest Disney items. We got them from Home Depot a couple of years ago. The sad thing is...most of them were discontinued.

Ok, I warned you it's a lot of Disney going on in there ;)

This is coming into the room, there are two closets on the left (we just finished this room in December, it was a storage room for 10 years... so we needed to make sure there was still room to store things).

Going around the corner

The back corner of the room, the door leads into the utility room. The 2 pics hanging with only a small picture in each will eventually have larger pics in them, we are putting together puzzles for them, but they are 1000 pieces each and taking a while.

And then coming back around by the TV and going towards the door again.

A lot of the stuff hanging are puzzles, the Pirates, Cinderella and Mickey, and then DD colored the Princess pics as well as the Fab 5 pics and they are all autographed by the characters in the parks. The pics above the TV I took in the parks, and then above the bookshelves in the hall area are movie scenes and mini posters.

I. FREAKING. LOVE. IT!!!!!! :dance3:

MAN - I wish I didnt rent. UGH!

My whole stinking house would be Disney-fied! :mickeyjum

Wow those pics are awesome. I love it.

One thing I plan on doing is put hidden mickey's all over my house. For example doing a border like you did in the pics but for my DD3's room do a Cars stencil and put a small HM every third image or something.

I already have a ton of movie posters. All three POTC, Cars, Sleeping Beauty, Robin Hood, and Sword and the Stone just to name a few. They will definately be put on the walls. One movie poster I have is an original Absent Minded Professor one sheet. That will get a place of honor.

I also have collections like my pirates collection, Cars, plushes, etc.

One other idea I had. I remember reading somewhere you can still buy the monorail playsets. I am thinking if I can get one and enough track, maybe putting it around the living room about 7 feet up on the wall.

And thanks for the link to the surplus place. Kind of expensive but I can at least get ideas. Maybe a few cheap things there.

This past summer my mom repainted her kitchen, well actually I repainted her kitchen. The main wall of the "dinning room" which is only separated by a peninsula, is feather painted. So I took the handy-dandy feather duster and made hidden mickeys on a few places on the wall. You can't easily see them, but my aunt and uncle picked them out right away.

Also, on her soffit, I put hidden mickey's on the bottom (underside that sticks out about 3") and in each corner there are small Hidden Mickey's.

You can get VERY creative with hidden mickey's.

Google "Home Depot Disney Door"...I just tried it. The second item that came up is a great link. You can see a picture of the Nemo door we have. Hope it works, otherwise I could try to get DH to take a picture & post it, but it wouldn't be until this weekend.

I love that Nemo door!!

I love the pics!! I've been in a redecorating mood lately and have plans to do my craft room, our bathrooms, and living room with a "touch" of Disney.

I love the HM idea!

DD wants to add some Hidden Mickey's as well, we just need to figure out how to do it. She also wants to add some Disney quotes, like above the doors and other places, there is no way I could freehand it.

I am off to check out the Disney doors

In our living room, DH and I wanted to incorparate our love for Disney in an understated non-in-your-face way. We looked at all kinds of Disney art for the walls and eventually got our hands on the ART of DISNEY IMAGINEERING book. We poured through it and settled on 4 images from the book of imagineer concept art for Speace Mountain, Epcot, and Circlevision theatres that we had printed, and framed. It goes great with our room's color palette but you can't really tell it's "Disney" unless you really stop to look at them.

Is this a book you bought and then tore the pages out to frame them, or is it some sort of catalogue you can order from? I'm a little intrigued :)

It was a book Dh bought for me for Christmas. I picked the photos and then we copied and printed them using the hi quality copier at DH's office.

Oh, OK, I see, thanks!

I am still looking for one or two more frames/ pictures and try to pick up ideas from other people :)

I'll see if I can take some pics of the final framed art. I was REALLY happy with it. It was tasteful-Disney.

My bedroom is all princess. Well, not all princess, but mostly princess, I have princess bed sheets, and my American Girl dolls wear Cinderella and Ariel dresses, and I have little princess touches, like a princess bank instead of a piggy bank, and the rose from my program from Princess Wishes, (ice show I saw last year,) on top of my tv. I also have a whole shelf lined with pictures in Disney frames.

When I get my own apartment, I'm planning on doing a Little Mermaid bathroom, and keeping a lot of Disney themeing throught the whole place. I just have to get DF to agree to it though. ;)
