I have always said, buy what makes you happy...especially where you have to lay your head down to rest up for the next day!

Looks great, have fun decorating :lmao: I am on of those that "changes" every few years, so I like lots of different styles!

Hi OP! You remind me of myself, contemplating all options. I don't like to buy these randomly, but prefer to focus on one room and change it head to toe.

First off, I love the headboard! The first bedding I find a little too busy, while the second choice I found very serene and super sophisticated. You mentioned it might be too light, but I wouldn't want anything too dark on the bedding because it may be too much of a contrast. I tend to stick to solid colors on the bedding and then add pillows. I love an all white bed! Have you thought about a white coverlet or comforter and then bring in pillow in charcoals, grays and another color to give it interest? I have kids, so I know it's hard! I just make sure to purchase something washable!! :laundy:

I like the headboard!
I don't think the first bedding set would go well with it.
I like the second one though, as long as your bedroom walls aren't white. If that's the case than I think you need something with more color.

But as a pp mentioned....you're the one living with it - choose what YOU like!

FYI, you can get bedding a LOT cheaper at places like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Tuesday Morning. That's where I go for all mine. It's like a treasure hunt, and you have no idea what they will have before you go in, but you can score some really great deals that way.

Bring on the living room look!

I think the headboard and the second choice - the platinum would look really cool and sophisticated.

I agree with another poster, it might be too light if your walls are white. You might consider matching the lightest gray in the bedspread and using that for your wall color.

Have fun!

I like the headboard and second bedding better. The first bedding I think has too much contrast with the headboard and would look kind of "busy", while the second one just looks soooo relaxing and tailored. Painting your walls a light grey will help the headboard to "pop" and show up. On white walls, it will tend to disappear.

Print out a nice photo of your new headboard and go to Macy's bedding department. They have a huge selection right on the floor. Walk around and look at all the colors and patterns. You don't need to buy from there, but you will get to see a lot of options for your headboard. If you have a camera on your cell phone, take a picture of the different beddings you like. Go home, and look online for things the same/similar to what you saw at the store. Macy's has 1/2 off sales all the time too if you see something you like there. Then, it makes it a bit more budget friendly too. I love the thread count on their bedding too. :thumbsup2

First off, I LOVE the headboard !! Very very nice.

You might want to rethink the mirrored nighttables. While they're kind of "in" right now, consider the "real world" aspects. They will show every speck of dust, they will show water rings or smudges from fingers. You'll be cleaning them every five minutes. They look pretty in a magazine setting , but I personally wouldn't want to see dust on them every day.

The bedding you chose is very pretty but (and again, only my opinion) it's a bit heavy and formal for the headboard. Now, if the headboard was in a chocolate leather or a darker fabric, I would say yes, totally. But the headboard, to me, lends itself to something more informal with the lighter fabric. I would lean towards Pottery Barn Quilts or shabby chic look with that headboard.

I do like the second bedding set....more appropriate w/ the headboard.

if you have a Costco nearby they carry the headboard (looks very similar)
the Queen is $149 and the King is $199. Ive been considering it for our master bedroom.

Sydneysmom, this is exactly what help is needed. I love the quilt idea (or a coverlet?) & just need some color suggestions. Really love cream or chocolate with blue. What about the style of nightstands/dressers if not the mirrored/glass? Thanks.

The Pier 1 girl tried to be helpful suggesting blue & teal accents with the couch/tables chosen. Here are a few chair choices.

Chair #1 may be my favorite, am a big chocolate fan

Chair #2 - this one looks so comfy & solid, but - too light??

Chair #3 Sorry this one is fuzzy!! It's pretty but no arms. Maybe a bedroom chair?
