Decorating a TINY bedroom

Why change rooms? Have you tried the bunk bed sets with a desk or sofa underneath for him in the smaller room?

I think 2 people would need more room for clothes and furniture but more power to you for trying/doing.

I´m not sure I explained well enough how small the room is. It is actually so small (narrow) that it would even be difficult to fit a chair behind the desk and be able to maneuvre around. We will keep most of our clothes in our old room, since it has a huge wardrobe and will only keep our day-to-day things in the small room. Don´t need any other furniture. We didn´t have any in the old room anyway, except for our rocking chair.

Just wanted to say that I haven't forgotten the pictures I promised, we just got tied up yesterday. I'll try again for today or tomorrow.

Freyja, glad to hear things are going well so far. That minimalistic look is what my DD was after too.

Dh and I, however, never spend any time in our room when we´re not sleeping, so I can´t see why we should have all that extra space unused.
do people still not get? :confused3

I wonder, if you had just started out your OP with, "MY DH & I have a tiny bedroom & are looking for ideas on how to decorate it..." without mention of the swap, would so many people still have an issue with you having that size of a bedroom?

I don't have any good suggestions for the tiny room but I am surpised at how many people feel that they need to tell you your making a mistake when you didn't ask what people thought about your trading rooms. I understand why your trading and my parents did the same when I was a teenager.

I also think having all the young people at my house is worth a little inconvenience on my part. We turned our dining room into a sitting room for DD and her friends. Her bedroom opens off of the former dining room so it makes a perfect additional space for Sarah and all the friends who come to see her. She is a freshman in high school this year. We will have the dining room back sooner than I want it. :sad2:
We own an older home that is always short on storage. I had a base built for my bed that is tall enough to slide storage boxes that are 12 inches high under. You would be surprised how much you can store when you put boxes all the way around.

Good Luck. I think you sound like great parents. :thumbsup2
