Okay, all you obsesive-complusive planners out there...

we are planning our next Disney vacation for 11-23 thru 12-3. Would you put up your home holiday decorations before or after your vacation?

Any feedback would be welcome, even thou we have approx. 182 days to go!

Before. Everything is going to go so fast when you come home.
Next thing you , know, it's New Years Eve! You'll feel less rushed if you do at least some of it before you leave.

I would do it before you go as having it done will give you something to look forward to coming home to.

We're goin around the 7th of Nov, and we are decorating BEFORE so I vote before. ::yes:: You'll be glad you did. We've gone many times in Nov or early Dec and it's such a bummer to come home to a plain house!

I'd do most of the big stuff before such as outside lights, etc. I'd save the little stuff and the tree until you came home. Like... if you hang stockings I may wait for those type of things.

After ... this is just my personal preference, but I won't put up any holiday decorations before the 10th of December. Holiday decorations keep going up earlier every year ... I've started to see christmas decorations the day after halloween ... at some point, I feel they just lose their magic if they're up for too long.

We usually go on holiday around that time of year and we put the decorations up before we leave!! I am usually depressed when I get home from holiday but the decorations cheer me up!!!:Pinkbounc

I cast my vote for before. We always go to WDW the week after Thanksgiving and I have found decorating before a lot easier. Also like Jockey said, I am always depressed when I leave Disney and coming home to a "christmas" house makes me feel 100% better. Plus I always feel a little crammed after we get back with unpacking and getting last minute gifts. Definately before.

Another before vote here. We are going in Nov. and will decorate before we go (everything except the tree). We always do the outside decorations around the middle - end of Nov. because we want to get them up before bad weather arrives.

I've gone the first week of December 3 times now. What I do is get the decorations out and do some, but not all because we like to go and pick out and buy a real Christmas tree...so we really have to decorate after.

I do as much as I can before but really I must do some after because of the tree.

I do the cards BEFORE and mail them on the way to the airport!

I do also try to get most of my Christmas shopping done before as well, so there's less stress after my trip.
