Decks 1 or 2 -- Stayed There?

We have stayed on both and were happy on both. I have now been spoiled by a verandah, but will only pay the extra for that on the 7 day cruises. :earsgirl:

Hi,
I noticed in a couple of posts on this thread reference to a cabin being on the "list" as noisy. Is there a list of noisy cabins somewhere??

We stayed in Cat 9, Deck 1 and really liked it. The two portholes were fine for us, one for each kid. We also liked the convenience of being right at our room when we reboarded the ship in port - no stairs to climb or lift to wait for when you have an armload of stuff and a tired and hot family. We also had a lot more interaction with the crew because there were crew quarters (I think) down there. We even saw a fire drill.

DW and I have taken 2 Wonder cruises and will be on the Magic in December. Both Wonder cruises we were on Deck 2 mid-ship and will be on Deck 2 once again on the Magic. We love that area of the ship. For the average person, you wouldn't notice anything. It is, from our experience, pretty quiet.

We stayed in cabin 2026 which is only about 14 cabins from the front of the ship. I was concerned that I would have some motion sickness because we were so forward but I was fine. We did have one night where it was a little rough, I just put the sea bands on and I was fine. As for the noise on deck 2, it was very noisy on days in port. Our cabin was directly above the spot where people exit. That would not deter me from getting the same cabin again, I loved the location. Easy access to the stairs and just a few flights up to the theater. I'm glad I didn't pay the extra money for a cat. 8!

Thanks so much for the question, and for all the detailed answers!!! We booked cat 8, deck 7 for our next cruise. We just assumed that because of the price difference, the cat 8 MUST be better than cat 9. But after reading your posts, we decided to go for the cat 9 midship on deck 2. (we have had some motion sickness issues in the past) Thanks to you, we have now saved $200 on our cruise, AND maybe a lot of miserable sea-sickness! Thanks again everyone! :teeth: :jumping1: :teeth:
