Deck 9 or 10 on Fantasy (or a different deck entirely)?

I was thinking the closer to Lido the better, but I didn't know if being just 1 deck lower would be loud at night. Also I'm torn between being close to the food/pools vs close to the kid's clubs. We went on the Magic last year (our first Disney cruise and now I'm in love) and we were on 8 so it was a happy middle. Thoughts? We're hoping to set sail the day after our oldest son's birthday, 9/16/17 on a western Caribbean.

We've been on both deck 9 and deck 10.

Deck 10 has a larger overhang on the verandah than deck 9, that's good if you don't to be in the sun all the time. But it is underneath the pool deck. Depending on your location that could be good or bad. We were under the starboard entrance area of Cabanas and didn't find it bad, noise-wise.

On the other hand - deck 9 (between two stateroom decks). Typically these are touted as being "quieter". But we didn't find it so. Mostly just due to passenger noise (running in the passageway both above us and on our deck). And the screaming kids in the connecting rooms on both sides of us.

We've been on deck 9 on both the Fantasy and Dream. It was nice being close to the pool deck and Cabanas, but I actually preferred when I was on Deck 7 of the Dream. Like your experience with Deck 8, it was more central to more places.

We had deck 10 under the spa last October and have the same place on deck 10 again this year. We loved it. It was so quiet and with the overhang, we could sit out on the veranda without roasting. Just know that they will come by to spray down the ship when in port, so keep your blinds closed when changing lol.

I loved Deck 10 and being just a flight up from Cabanna's/Pool Deck. In two weeks, I have one on Deck 9, also aft. I'll get a little more exercise.

I think deck 7 is awesome. A few decks up to Cabanas and the pools; a few decks down to the MDRs, shops, and theaters. And it's quiet!...

We had deck 8 on the fantasy and found it to be quiet. Haven't stayed on deck 9 or 10 but would probably choose 9.

We like Deck 10 forward under the spa on the Starboard side. It is quiet, has the great overhang and shade. :) We have stayed Deck 6 and 9 as well but Deck 10 as I noted is our favorite. :)

We've been on both decks 9 and 10 on the Dream Class ships and our preference is for deck 9. The overhang on 10 makes the veranda not quite as nice for us. Add to that the movement of chairs, etc on the pool deck above and it just makes the deck 9 cabins our prime choice. Not a huge thing though. We would happily sail in a deck 10 cabin if that was our only choice.

Lido deck is the term often applied to the pool/buffet deck onboard a ship.

I'm not sure DCL actually uses the designation, but many people do.

I can't remember any time I've heard DCL refer to it as the lido deck, but I could be wrong. When I hear the term, I tend to flashback to episodes of The Love Boat.

We stayed on deck 7 and found it was pretty central, but we had the same issue with kids running up and down the halls and we had a loud child next door that hung out on the veranda a lot. This next time we are on deck 9 forward because all the adult only things are closer for us. Food will just be farther away -- which isn't always a bad thing! :)

He have always like deck 9 specifically so we don't have to hear chairs above us from the main deck
