Deck 8-motionsickness?

How much can you feel the sway of the ship on Deck 8?

I haven't stayed up there yet, but from what I've heard, you feel the waves a lot more that high up than say, on deck 2 or something. I guess the general thing is, the higher you are and the closer to the ends of the ship, the more you feel the motion. the lower and more towards the middle you get, the less you feel it. So if you're really worried about it, deck 8 might not be the best place for you. But, that's just my opinion...we'll see what others who might've actually stayed on deck 8 have to say

We stayed on deck 7 aft and didn't have any problem with the waves.

yeah...like I said, it's what I've read as the sort of general consensus on the topic. It all does depend on how sensitive you are to the motion, and of course, the varying sea conditions.

I always cruise on Deck 8 and have never felt any motion problem there, in fact only in the restaurants on deck 3 have I felt anything.

We have stayed on Deck 2 and Deck 8. This past cruise in Nov. was on Deck 8 and we felt a lot of motion, but it was pretty rocky almost the entire trip.
But comparing Deck 2 to Deck 8 for motion, we didn't feel much of anything on Deck 2.

I've only cruised once before and we stayed on Deck 8. I was really worried about getting sick! I really didn't notice the motion to be different on other decks compared to ours. I took ginger tablets every day though!!

We have sailed on deck 8 a number of times and will be back on deck 8 on 12/1 and I have not felt any motion. We also sailed on Deck 2 in August and I didn't feel any motion on that deck either and that was the Trans-Atlantic Crossing.

Just to go back to this, I have stayed on lower decks on Princess cruises and noticed a lot of motion, now that is another cruise line.

I have sailed through the back end of hurricane Hilary on the Magic and a very bad storm in the Med. My preferred place was my stateroom on Deck 8.

My DD is very sensitive to Motion sickness and couldn't stay in the restaurants on deck 3, but was OK to have room service in our stateroom.

Never known and issue on the higher decks.

We've stayed on deck 8 on all 5 of our DCL cruises and the only time we felt a lot of motion was when we encountered 20 - 30 foot seas. On the EB repo in 2005, we went through part of Hurricane Hilary and had 30 foot seas. We had to take our DS to the medical clinic, which is on deck 1, and the motion was just as bad down there as it was on deck 8.

We have cruised with 20+ foot swells staying on decks 7 and 8. We felt more motion on deck 3 in AP than we did in our room. It was difficult to keep our footing while standing waiting for the chef to prepare our meal at the station.

The experts say midship is the best place so as not to feel the motion. On Disney that would be about Deck 5 in the middle.

On our last cruise we stayed on deck 8 mid-ship. I have terrible motion sickness, but I was fine on this trip. I used Rx Relief Band, no drugs, worked wonders. I bought mine at drugstore.com. I have used mine for about 5 years now. I can't tell you how it is without the Relief Band, sorry.

I feel the motion on the lower decks in the aft section more for some reason. Stayed on deck 7 several times and not noticed any swaying.
