Hi everyone--just booked our 1st cruise for the Wonder in Aug. Since the cruise is so expensive this time of year, I decided to cheap out and get an inside cabin. We are at the very aft, starboard side. Any info on this area would really be appreciated. There are only 2 of us, so I think the standard bath will be fine.
Thanks in advance!

(I already know about the "secret deck" in this area--one reason I selected this cabin, and did not want to be on decks one or two)

By the way---thanks Barb for the wonderful "Castaway Club" site--I have been studying it dilligently--a great help when making the initial reservation!! Thanks again!

We stayed back there, with verandah, and LOVED the location. It was so quiet, and a quick walk down to the dining rooms or up to the drink station and Beach Blanket. At first we wished we would have been midship, but by the end of the trip we were glad we stayed aft.

Enjoy your cruise!

This is my favorite place to stay on the ships. We usually go for the category 7 rooms on deck 7. Like the previous poster said, it's close to the aft stairs and elevators, and as you said, close to the deck 7 aft balcony. I think these rooms are very quiet and conveniently located.

in a Cat 7 room with Navigator's Verandah, and thought the location was wonderful. Very quiet, and yet convenient to the elevators. It worked out so well for us that we booked the exact same room for the Western cruise we're taking next January! :)

Since you're been to my website, you probably know what a big fan of aft I am! As others have said, it is such as quiet area. Being on deck 7, it will be really simple to pop up the back staircase to the buffet. Also, the aft elevators are typically much less crowded than the midship ones, and you are convenient to two of the three dinner restaurants...just a few flights down. I really can't think of any downside to staying aft...it's a great place.

You guys are great!!!! I had a good feeling about this location, thanks for all of the positive feedback. I can hear the snow plow outside right now trying to clear the 19 inches of snow that fell this weekend--we've been snowbound--planning the cruise has really been a great diversion.
Still trying to figure out why I live in southern Ohio instead of Central Florida!:D

Quiet, convenient and close to the secret deck. And a cat 10 or 11 is not bad on DCL. You will be pleasantly surprised. It is easier to start at that level and gradually work your way up to a higher Cat. You'll find yourselves out of the cabin most of the time. We were their only to sleep, shower and change. Enjoy the cruise and have fun! You will be hooked be prepared!!!

We've booked 7600 & 7602 on the Magic for March 8th. What is the "secret deck" everybody's talking about?

We were in Deck 7 forward (7005) on our first cruise, and Deck 7 mid (7538, free upgrade to cat 5, woo hoo) on our 2nd. We really like Deck 7. It's very easy to climb 2 flights of stairs to get up to the buffet and pools. I find it easier to go down than up, so climbing down multiple flights for the restaurants was no big deal!

For us being forward with kids, I just climbed up, then went along deck 9 to get to the kids area. You cruising without kids will just do the opposite, up then down to the adults. You'll come out right by scoops though, so beware the call of the cookies and ice cream!

Enjoy!

We've done front (on our recent cruise), middle (on our first two cruises) and aft (last May). They all have advantages. What I really love about aft is that back staircase. Never crowded because a lot of people don't know its there. So nice and easy to pop up for a drink or even to grab breakfast and bring it back to the room (which I did in May one day).

The other advantage if you are far enough aft is that the lifeboat drill is in Animator's Palette instead of out on the deck. Nice!

We'll be in a Navigator's Veranda on our upcoming Magic cruise and I'm looking forward to it!
