Hello Everyone!
I have received tons of information from this site. Thanks to all. We are going on the 4 day in March (can't wait!) Cat. 9 with porthole. And have booked the 7 day for March 2004. Wasn't able to get a secret verandah or porthole, but did get room 7501.
Anyone stayed there before? Is it noisy, inconvenient, or prone to motion? Also what is on the other side of the cabin, the cruise brochure only shows a gray area? Any help from you veteran cruisers, I would appreciate. Have been to CastawayClub site and Dave's site but haven't found any info on this room as of yet.

We were in 7005, which is just on the opposite side of the ship. We REALLY liked the location. The other side of your cabin is the stairway up to the bridge. We saw a lot of officers going in and out of the door on our hallway. It was kind of nice. We talked to the Captain level person who was in charge of the hotel type services (the room stewards, the bartenders, etc I think). He was pretty nice and talked to us for quite a while.

You'll find that the stairs are very convenient to go up to Deck 9. You come out right by the adult pool. If you have kids, just trek down to the other end for the family area.

We were in cabins 7505 and 7507 on our Dec 14th Cruise. It is quite forward in the ship, but we really liked our location since it was VERY quiet. I do think that you feel a bit more of the ship's motion up there. We were rocked to sleep every night!

We had 7509 on the Wonder in Nov. 2000. We think the grey area was a service hallway. The only time we heard any significant noise was on the last night when they were collecting luggage. Seemed to be some banging at the back wall of the cabin -- didn't last too long. Other than that this was a very quiet area and close to the forward elevators. Long walk to the laundry room though!

Have a great cruise.

We have room 7005 and 7007 and our in-laws are in 7001. Have only sailed one other time in a cat 5 deck 7. The cat 5's had the couch and pull down bunk near the sliders to the verandah. Is the bed or the couch & pull down bunk near the back wall?
Thanks

Padre Disney,

The inside cabins have the bed toward the back and the sofa and pull-down in the middle. In place of the portal or slider there is a large round mirror. At least that's the way it was in both CAT 10s we sailed in on the Wonder (7509 & 2103).

That is great. I wish that is how the cat 5's would have been. We would have enjoyed the verandah more if our bed would have been near the sliders.

If the bed is at the back is the headboard on the back wall or side wall?

In both of our cabins the headboard was against the side wall with a narrow walking space between the bed and the back wall.

Hi,

We had the cabin 7501 last March. It is a nice cabin and a quiet location.

Only people with a cabin in that location go there. At the end of the hall is the entrance of the officer's quarter. We met the captain in the hall one time.

We had very rough seas for our sailing. When we were asleep it was moving like a "simulator".

If you cabin host is Lily can you said that the "French canadian family" say Hi ! She was wonderful.....
