Deck 6/Inside vs Deck 2/OV

Limited availability for the cruises I'm looking at for summer. 1st cruise ever for my family of 4, 4 night on the Dream. Both rooms are the 204 sq ft. Option 1 is Deck 6 rear ship deluxe inside or Option 2 is OV Deck 2 mid ship. Price close, but OV room is about $200 more total. Two different dates at end of July, but either work for us. Which would be the better option?

Generally, I'd pick an oceanview over an inside room. I prefer some natural light coming ing.

Not really. Just personal preference. Deck 2 isn't so much midship, more forward to midship - there's a dining room on that level, so the lobby area there is pretty busy at mealtimes.

Check your pricing and see what it would be for 2 inside cabins with 2 in each stateroom...sometimes it is not that much of a difference.

Either will be great- I'd base it on the dates. An oceanview room would be nice for the view, but insides on the Dream have "magical portholes", so they're both great. I prefer sailing mid-ship or forward over sailing aft, however, I also prefer a higher deck to a lower one.

I would pick the OV room because you will be able to see outside. We typically book 2 connecting OV rooms on the Deck 2 and we love the views.

This is what we are doing this upcoming trip in October. We have always had a ocean view or veranda but trying this because it was actually cheaper to get two rooms because at the time we booked there was only concierge rooms left. A little hesitant but looking forward to something new.

I would normally go for a verandah if I can, but for a 3-4 night cruise on the Dream I *might* pick the deluxe inside v. deck 2 oceanview. It has the magical porthole so you can kind of see outside, kids tend to love it too. I would do it solely to save the $200 - it's not a lot but it would cover our jet ski excursion on Castaway Cay! When I see the photos from the deck 2 oceanview rooms I feel a bit "uneasy" so it depends how you feel about it.
It's funny though because I was looking at the same options for a NY cruise next Fall - however more torn there because it's a 7 night cruise with 4 sea days. I don't know if I want to be in an inside stateroom that long, and without a magical porthole since it's on a classic ship... decisions, decisions

We have stayed deck 2 OV on the Dream for our past four cruises. Loved it! LOVE the location!!!

deck 2 advantage - you can stumble out of your room in the morning and you are right at Enchanted Garden for Breakfast.

And I usually stay on deck 2 on all of the DCL ships. I do like the rooms on the Magic/Wonder better than the Dream / Fantasy - because the OV room porthole is larger and easier to see out of. You kinda need to be standing to see out of the porthole on Dream / Fantasy.

I would select the Oceanview , the inside rooms are really dark and hard to wake up.. we like the natural light to wake us up. if you have any one who might be the least bit seasick choose a lower deck in midship!!

I have friends who don't like deck 2 on the Wonder/Magic and will choose inside all day long on deck 5/6 but on the Dream, they LOVED their deck 2 oceanview. I'd take the deck 2 oceanivew, no question asked!
