A bit of advice would be great...

We are thinking of a March 12 th 7 day western trip. A large group will be travelling....how are the category 10 connecting rooms on Deck 2 (2607,2609, 2635, 2637, 2643, 2645). We have several small children between 3 families and are first time cruisers!

Any advice is much appreciated.

On our first cruise and plan to have them again on our third. Didn't notice any noise except when pulling into port one morning. Didn't have much motion even when seas were high. DS get seasick and wasn't a problem unless he was up on deck. He felt more motion there. In all, the rooms was great! That is why we booked it again and the fact my DS does get seasick and never hhas a problem with it there. But we always takes meds. incase. We have also had 2638 and 2640, but they are cat 9's. We really do like the area.
I like the layout better in the cat 10, the bed is in the end of the cabin but in a cat 9 it is in the middle and you have to go around it to reach the sofa. But I do like the port hole in cat 9 but DS doesn't.
Close to Lumiere's and Parrot Cay on deck 3 and Animators Palate on deck 4. We just always took the stairs. Kids clubs on deck 5 we would sometimes take the stairs but also took the elevator. Plus an elevator is pretty close by and we never really had a long wait.

Have a great cruise!

If you have any more questions just let me know and I will try my best to answer.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like we should be OK. I was worried about noise anad motion sickness. Did your rooms all sleep 3 ? I believe the bathrooms are split in these rooms, is this true? How many children were you travelling with? Sounds like Deck 2 works for you.

2635, 2637, 2638 and 2640 sleep 4.
We are a family of five sometimes six DH, myself, DS14, DD 10, DS4 and sometimes DN15.
Our first cruise was Dec 2002 so the kids ages were 12, 9, and 2.
Then on our second cruise the ages were 13, 10 (had biryhday on ship), and 3 plus we took our DN14 with us. We always sleep in one cabin and the kids in the other. We have the bed made into twin beds so even when we took our DN everyone had thier on bed. Cat 10 do have the split bathroom. I love the split baths and 2 bathrooms is great with kids. plus the kids loved having a cabin to call ours.
Our next cruise is just the five of us.
The inside cabin worked great for naps.

Thanks Peggy-

Do you know about 2607 and 2609? If they sleep 3 or 4? I will ask my travel agent. Sounds like you can split the queen bed into 2 for all to get their own sleeping area. Did you request this on board?

We have DH. myself, DS 13, DD 12, DD 8 and DD 4 . Love the split baths. This should work. DS 13 needs SPACE!

The other groups have small children including infants. Do you know where the pack and go crib fits in the room? Do you have to request them ahead of time?

Thanks again.

KML,
I have a PassPorter's Field Guide to the DCL. PassPorter's
it says that cabins 2609 and 2607 sleeps 4 each. I haven't been in 2609 or 2607.
As far as spliting the bed to make 2 twins we just asked our stateroom/cabin host/hostess. They will introduce themself to you plus there is a card in your room with their name on it. The sofa makes a bed and I know you can ask for a safety rail for it so the little ones don't fall off. We did this with our youngest. The other bed is over top the sofa. It just drops down from the ceiling and it has safety rail and a ladder, like a bunk bed. The sofa and drop down is the size of a twin bed. Your host/hostess will take care of this each night and morning. The more I think about it I believe our host just brought the safety rail in himself without me asking.
I don't personal know about the cribs but I looked it up in my PassPorter's and it said "Cribs- Portable, "pack and play" cribs are available, as are safety rails- request when reserving. Highchairs are also provided in the dining areas."
As far as where they set the cribs up I don't know but if I had to guess I would think maybe in front of the sofa.
I don't know if you know or not but you can go to www.disneycruise.com
and see deck plans. This will give you an
idea how far apart you are from the other cabins in your group and see a layout of a inside cabin. I will try to insert a lay out pic from DCL but it may not work.

Everyone will have a great time. Plus I think everyone will have enough "ME"
space. We love the 2 cabins, we will always cruise this way or until the kids are grown.
Don't forget you can put your luggage under the beds just pick it up and slide under.
;)

Thanks, I think this is the way to go. Looks like the Porters guide is a good purchase. I will let you know what we end up with.
