If you had a choice of the following three cabins on Deck 2 of the Magic, which would you choose? 2108, 2110 or 2116? I know they are in the same area (aft, near elevators). I have read the stateroom reports. Looking for the cabin with the least amount of noise!! Would it be 2116, even though it is directly across from the aft elevators?

If you have stayed in any of these cabins, would you mind sharing your experiences?:lovestruc

TIA!

We booked 2116 for our cruise next year. We were in 2616 (directly opposite side of ship).

We loved the proximity to the elevators - didn't hear anything from the halls.

Thanks for your input! 2116 is sounding good to me...any noises above you?

Total guess, but I suspect 2116 would not have too much noise from above. It is underneath the hallway between the Promenade Lounge and Parrot Cay, which I bet is mostly quiet. I can't imagine foot traffic would cause that much noise, but again, total guess.

I say this having just been in 2586 (starboard midship) which was underneath the Lumiere's galley, and there was loud noises from there each night around 11pm as they were doing whatever it was they were doing in the galley.

Thanks, I thought that looked like a hallway above 2116. It looks like 2108 and 2110 are under the lounge. I'm less concerned about hallway noise than I am about noises above me. Had a horrific cruise on Carnival once with a cabin right underneath a public area--deck chairs were above us and the noise went on until 3am. Don't want to risk something like that again. Prefer to get SOME sleep :0)

We were in 2108 for the final Med/WBTA in September:

I hope they fixed it during the drydock after the TA, but the window in our room had bubbles in it. I found it a little distracting for just sitting and watching out of the window.

I like the location of the room. It wasn't far from the laundry and convenient to the aft elevators.

I don't remember any noise from above. As a rule most of the "nightlife" on Disney cruises stops a little earlier than on other lines.

2108 &2110 are under the lounge area, but it is under the passageway on the port side, so the only sounds I remember (VERY rarely) were what I took to be children's feet running by (on carpet), but it certainly wasn't what I would call noisy.

2116 and 2114 are the 9C rooms I try to book, since they seem the safest in terms of less noise, and have consistently good reviews and steamer trunks.

I had 2110 on hold briefly yesterday but had my TA switch it when I read it doesn't have a steamer trunk.

Thanks all! So now it's down to 2108 and 2116! I am leaning towards 2116...

Actually it's Parrot Cay, not AP on deck 3 (AP is on deck 4). But I also like 2116 because it's in that area by the elevator lobby, and not the restaurant or nightclub lounge.

I had them both reserved at one point yesterday and today. I started to have my TA switch us out of 2108, but it had great reviews on par with 2116's , so I didn't see any reason to switch so I left it until I canceled those cruises altogether. (Had I seen Linda's picture of the bubbles, then I would have switched - Linda, you should do a stateroom report and mention that if you haven't already!)

2114 also sounds good. Avoid 2012 and 2010 since they don't have steamer trunks. And avoid the right side rooms since they are under the large kitchen between Parrot Cay and Lumiere's!

OK, so now it's between 2114 and 2116! Read the stateroom review on 2114 and it does sound good. Plus is that it's not directly by the elevator like 2116 is. Decisions, decisions! :confused3

I've been in 2118 on the Magic & the Wonder and we love that it's right at the elevator lobby. We can tell immediately by our door magnets if we've made a wrong turn out of the elevator or off the stairs.

We also just stayed in 2108 in Oct and didn't have any noise. Our 1st cruise was in 2106, also great room and a tad closer to the laundry area if that matters to you.

Just booked 2118 again for 2012 out of NY. :cool1:

This past October? That would be after the drydock? Were there still bubbles in the window?

So 2108 is definitely out of the running. I am agonizing over 2114 or 2116. 2114 is listed in some places as part of a "noisy" block of rooms but 2116 is not. Both get great reviews on the DIS, both have steamer trunks.

I know they are right next door to each other and may be exactly the same, but again I am more concerned about what's above. The gangway below doesn't bother me either, it will be a good alarm clock for port days.

When we stayed in 2118, my parents were in 2116 and didn't complain about any noise. Sure you hear & feel the thrusters during docking but we have also felt it in the dining rooms and all over the ship. It never bothered me but maybe that's what people refer to as noisy. :confused3

The Promenade hallway is above those rooms though I guess the lounge probably starts near where your door would be? I don't know. I've also been in 2618 which was described as noisy from being below the kitchen and we heard the clank of pots once or twice but nothing that would make me think for a second it was causing me to have a bad cruise. :goodvibes

Did you know there is a wall seperating the elevators from the rooms? You aren't RIGHT beside the elevator
