Cant seem to pick a resort! I am between all star movies, carribean beach and polynes. One from each catagory! I am planning on the first week in dec so it should be the cheapest...but with the tickets it is 3200 for poly, 1577 for all star and 1918 for carrib. I like the beach theme personally, but heard you cant swim in the water. Is the poly worth THAT much extra money as opposed to the other 2? I havent been to disney in 8 years and have two children now. (i would like the grand floridian if just hubby and me!)thanks!

I can only vouch for the Value Resorts and I favor Pop Century or All Star Movies, Toy Story section. I think your kids would love them.

It depends on what you are looking at. For me, with young kids, space is worth a lot of money. We also aren't park commandos, but spend a lot of time at the resort. So for us we went with Poly and loved it. It was large enough that we didn't feel on top of each other, the grounds were great, we were able to see the fireworks from the beach each night without having to be at MK and totally disrupt the girls schedule (no big deal to head to bed right after them when you're only walking a couple hundred yards to your room). Poly also has a zero entry pool, which was key with young children.

So really it all depends on what you put a premium on. If you don't really value what you get with upgrades in category, then don't spend your money there.

I have stayed at both the Contemporary and CBR. I personally prefer CBR. The layout is great. Each land has it's own pool and there is a main pool with a slide. The food court has alot of variety for all meals. The lake is great for water rentals and the beach has comfy hammocks and lounge chairs. My own personal opinion.......unless you are planning on spending lots of time in your room or at your resort I would not spend the extra money. But as I said that's only a personal opinion. I'd rather save that money for shopping!!!!

The theming at the Poly is great, and I love the pool, etc. But what I REALLY go to Poly for is the transportation options. Being on the resort monorail loop, being next door to the TTC for the direct MK and EPCOT monorails, and having the MK boat, make it the best resort in all of WDW for transportation purposes.

I'm willing to pay a pretty good premium for this transportation, although I always go during value season, so I try either the Poly, WL, or even BC.

But $1,300 is a LOT of money to consider, when really, transportation options are really the main reason to stay at Poly instead of CBR. I'm sure CBR has a very nice pool, as do all of the resorts. But remember, the first week of December is not all that warm in Orlando. Unless you're a polar bear, even heated water can be tough to deal with when the air temps are in the 50's and 60's for the most part.

If you want a half-way priced option between CBR and Poly, I'd get a quote for WL. It has the really nice ferry boats to MK, and has the best theming in all of WDW, IMHO, and it supposedly has incredible Christmas decorations.
