We're sailing October 16 on the Fantasy. We are paid in full. Wife is reluctant to sail now and wants to rebook for next year. I don't want to reschedule and would like to wait for Disney to cancel so we can get the 125% being offered currently. The problem is the longer we wait, the fewer options are available and the prices go up. Any suggestions?

We are on that same cruise. I'm in the group of waiting for Disney to cancel. I would have cancelled myself, but we booked concierge and we'd lose the deposit. At this point we would just take the refund as prices next year seem higher than 125% of what we paid, so we want to book our first disneyland visit with the refund. Also, wife is a teacher and with our state imposing a 14 day quarantine (currently) for those returning from Florida trips it would be impossible for us to sail with that in place (wouldn't be fair to her students). I contacted disney to see if they would waive the deposit forfeit due to that and was met with a quick no. I have a feeling that disney will hold off on cancelling until as close to the cruise dates as they can to essentially play a game of chicken and see how many people move their cruise with the new up to 15 days before policy vs having to refund it.

We were supposed to cruise in November, but it left from Puerto Rico. PR has put in place some stringent travel requirements for Covid testing. I knew it would be hard to get a test and our cruise was to end in MIami. Well, Florida is a hot mess and I can't see the CDC letting cruise ships have passengers coming and going from there in November. I went ahead and paid off the cruise with the mindset, I would get the extra 25%. But I realized in the end it wasn't going to be worth it if cruises went up a lot in price.

Therefore, when the Fall 2021 were sent to me from my TA, I moved the cruise to next November. We are Gold members, so had a couple day jump on the public. The cruise price was exactly the same, no more, no less.

It's a tough decision, but I am at peace with my decision.

If only we all had a crystal ball.

If you can cancel without losing your deposit, I would do it. Future cruises are going to book up. I already canceled and rebooked our October cruise.

Its not a guarantee the cancel or give a 125% if they do cancel.

How much money is the 25% and figure out if you would gamble getting that vs the higher cruise prices, possibly missing the room/cruise you want, or worse yet being "forced" to cruise this year if your wife is completely against it come October

Book the 2021 cruise now & only pay the minimum deposit. When your October cruise is cancelled, get the FCC and apply it to the 2021 cruise.
