A week or so ago I posted a thread regarding all the packages for DLR properties being booked for the time I am planning on going and then I found out the superior hotel, and CCI pkgs were booked as well through WDTC, AAA, and costco...So frantically I started trying to figure out an alternative plan...I booked reservations directly through Sheraton, CCI, and Fairfield Inn...I was really lucky that doing it this way would insure we would have a place to stay if I cant book a pkg..However, I am torn at which place to stay..I definitely need some input...I do want to let you know that I was able to get all 3 places for almost the same price..Firstly though, I am well aware of everyones love for CCI...I have yet to find a negative review for this place.. that said, I have some concerns...1. the beds are pretty much to the walls...that will be hard getting up from one side of each bed, 2. the pillows are not what I would use for sleeping..they look more like ones you put for decoration..and 3. they are outdoor corridors...Now I have booked a premium room and am aware they are like 40% bigger but I still have same concerns...

I know nothing about the Fairfield Inn except what I have been reading..my biggest concern is that this place seems to be a haven for families with little children and posters have indicated that the noise might be an issue...However, seeing as they are young, they may be put to bed early or be out by the time they arrive back at the hotel lol...that is my only concern for this place

As far as Sheraton goes, I have seen really negative reviews lately, but 2 things about this..1. I stayed there 2nd week of May, right after 50th started and I had a lovely experience...and 2. most of the reviews are due to non research and rediculous expectations...Seeing as what I have written, I really would appreciate some help in deciding which place to stay at...thanks

Well, only you can decide what is important to you. Here are questions I ask myself and consider:

How far is it? Can I walk or will I need a shuttle? How long will the walk seem at night?
CCI- not far, no street to cross, and private shuttle
Fairfield- walking distance, have to cross Harbor, ART is available if to tired to walk
Sheraton- not exactly sure where this one is, looks to be a little further then the Fairfield, ART available.

Room size- how many people? How much time spent in room?
We dont spend much time in our room, so its not a huge concern for me.

Money saving perks?
CCI- breakfast included. for our family of 4, that is about $30-40 a day in savings.
Fairfield- near mcdonalds which is nice to be able to get drinks, late night snacks or quick cheap breakfast
Sheraton- again, havent been there, not sure

Pool? MIght use once or twice, for a short swim with the kids
CCI- looks nice enough, not huge, but nicely decorated
Fairfield- a bit small, but warm. Location is not great

I've stayed at the fairfield, about 2 years ago. It was nice enough and walking was not a problem. The rooms arent large, but there was enough room for 3 adult and 2 kids. We had family in the ajoining room, so that helped. A couple nights the kids used the bed over in grandma's room. We didnt notice any noise issues from other peoples children, but we were with a 2 and 5 year old, so my kids may have been the ones making noise!

I have not yet stayed at the CCI. I have a res for May. It will be 3 'mom' with out kids or husbands. We dont plan on hanging out in our room, and probably won't use the pool. I maybe staying there with my husband and two kids in March as well. Dh has to confirm the time off work and then I'll book. The great reviews, location and included breakfast are what sold me. The free breakfast means we get one more day on the trip. (its only $120 more for us to stay an extra day, we'll save that over 4 mornings. It will cost us a little more then that because of eating in the park the 3rd day, but we usually do a light breakfast, buy one meal and a snack. One meal and a snack isnt that much to pay for an extra day!)
