decision time....WL or Poly?

Um, I would choose WL Club level, BUT I would try really hard to do Poly Garden Club level instead. I am a concierge spoiled brat (I admit it), so I would always choose concierge over not, but I hesitate to return to WL (although I LOVE it so) due to the transportation problems I encountered there last Feb. It was really bad...bad enough to make me never stay there again, the thought of which makes me very, very sad. I hope they fix it.

If you can tolerate LONG bus rides with lots of sharing w/other resorts, a LONG wait for the boats, and an INSANELY long travel time from resort to resort if you need to do that, then pick the WL. Otherwise, choose the Poly. The time and aggravation you save on transportation will be worth the loss of the concierge.

After staying at both Resorts I would choose the Polynesian because we liked it better then the Wilderness Lodge. Plus you also get to use the Monorail and have the walkway to the TTC.

Tell me about your WL transportation woes!! we are set to check in there soon and I would love a heads up! If there is something than can easily be avoided or to be prepared for - I am all "ears!" :lmao: I would love to hear your take on the transportation there!

To the OP: We stayed at Poly last trip and LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!! We had garden viewand thought it was amazing. I had also stayed there my times a a kid. We figuredwe would try the Wl at leats once - the "conveninece" of a deluxe, but not the full blown delux price tag. But i do agree with the above poster - it was super convenient being right there on the monorial. I hope to stay at the Contemporary the next time we visit WDW.... I am looking forward to our upcoming stay at WL ((A week from Tuesday!!! ))and will be sure to chime in on my thoughts when I get back!! Good luck with your descision and whatever you decide to do - I hope its magical!! :wizard:

We love both resorts but have only stayed at WL once, that's why we're doing it again in Sept. We've stayed at the Poly numerous times and want to experience WL a bit more. Two very good options though.

Wilderness Lodge, Club Level. I had almost the same decision to make, only it was between the Yacht Club and the Polynesian. After previously staying at all three resorts, and previously staying Club Level at the Yacht Club, it was an easy decision. The amenities at a Club Level far out-weighed the Polynesian option. Please keep in mind, everyone has their own choices to make. Our decision to stay at the Yacht Club fit into our plans much better.

We stayed at the WL in Apr.07, and loved it! We had no problems with transportation, thought it was great. We will be staying at Poly for the first time in Aug 08., and llooking forward to experiencing a new hotel. IMO you cannot go wrong with the WL.

If you're not doing the DDP, go with WL CL. If you're doing the DDP, then go with Poly GV.

We really love the Poly and the transportation options. You may want to factor that into your decision as well.

Here's my reasoning:

* Both are beautifully themed (tie)
* Pool at Poly with view of the castle and zero depth entry is better if you have little ones (Poly).
* CL is not worth the price you'd pay for the food (IMHO)
* Transportation at Poly is far better than at WL.
* Dining options at Poly are better (Poly)

After my awful experiences with the WL this past trip, I would definitely say the Polynesian.

We had the same dilemma for this July. We've stayed once at Wilderness and it was amazing. Always wanted to stay at Poly. Here's why we chose WL:

-$1,000 cheaper.
-We'll need to do laundry. At the Poly, we could have a long haul to the nearest laundry facility. At WL, it'll be right down stairs.
-Monorail is best option for MK, but we had nothing but pleasant experiences with boat from WL.
-It rains alot in the summer. It'll be nice getting back to the hotel and not having to worry about getting soaked on the way back to the room.
-With little kids, we need to make unplanned runs to the food court for water, etc. Much easier access at WL than at Poly.

All that being said, when our babies get older, we'll definitely want to try the Poly.

I've stayed at the Poly many a times and have to say I think it is a wonderful place.

HOWEVER -- I've recently fallen in love with the WL and would rather stay at the WL than any other WDW resort. The theming is breathtaking, the dining is outstanding, the transportation is wonderful, and I fully believe it is a much better bang for your buck.

I also think CL is a great option considering the breakfast foods and the service a CL host/hostess can offer.

PM if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Josh
