 My middle DD finally decided on a resort for the second half of our stay: the THV. :woohoo: She gets to choose as the vacation is her bat mitzvah gift.

I haven't done much TVH research but would like a villa that has a river view (we saw them when we toured SSR and when we stayed at the POR). We are view junkies. :cloud9:

Which villa numbers are those? Are there any downsides to those villas as far as location, transportation, bugs, etc...?

:thanks:

Feels like it's been forever but only 70 days until I can make our DVC reservation.

Can't help you about THV but wanted to say Mazel Tov for your daughter. Can't think of a better way to celebrate. We gave DS15 the choice of a Bar Mitzvah party or a family vacation and he asked for a Disney cruise. DS11 has already told us he wants the same for his in 2013.

We do have some friends who stayed in THV a few weeks ago before we cruised on the Dream and they loved staying there.

Just ask for a water view. We asked for that and got room 7030, which we loved. The second trip we asked for a Thv near 7030 and got 7039, which had a fairway view and we almost got hit while sitting on the balcony. Well not really, but we could hear the ball in the trees....too close for me! Anyway, do you have a car, if not, you may also request closest to the 2nd bus stop, as the walk can be long.

:goodvibes So great! A Disney Cruise sounds fabulous is on the menu but because she wants to bring her BFF with us, the cruise is out for now. I gave her the option of WDW and a 3 day cruise or just WDW and her BFF. She chose her buddy. Love my loyal little girl.

I'd much rather do a vacation than throw a big party. They are fun but everytime I go to one, I feel like it's for everyone but the family. It's hard to reinvent the wheel and make them unique especially here in Utah. It truly is the exact same people aside from family and only a few decent venues available for that time of year. Before June, any outdoor planning comes with a huge weather risk. We have student rabbis so all bat/bar mitzvahs have to happen by the end of May at the very latest.

:thanks: Can you be near the 2nd bustop and water? I'd rather see the water. I don't mind a little longer walk.

How was the noise from the boats? We stayed at POFR and frequently took the boats to DTD and noticed that as lovely as the THV looked, the boats seemed to sound their horns a LOT. I'd love to stay at the THVs but the DW was quite concerned with this.

We had a water view but could see no water. The dense foilage covered the windows and was over our heads surrounding our deck. We could, however, hear the noisy boats. We were the second villa from the main entrance, don't remember the number, but it was definitely on the water side.

From there, it was an incredibly long walk to anywhere.

Noise doesn't bother me but DH doesn't sleep well so that's something I need to consider, thanks you!

Hmmm.......no water and a long walk? Would you stay there again? Was the THV nice?
