Arriving Oct 2nd and have been scouring the normal traveling website I use for discounted rooms. Trying to decide if I should jump on the recent option(s) or wait and roll the dice. It's just me (a guy) and my two sons. Doesn't have to be fancy, just clean and we want to be able to walk (prefer 15min or less) or have a reliable (free) shuttle. We won't have a car, and will mainly just using the rooms to sleep and take an afternoon break.

Currently Hotel Lulu (the old Red Lion) seems to be cheapest with all the boxes checked for $109. If I bumped it up a dollar I have a lottery chance of the rotation of Lulu, The Anaheim Hotel, Anaheim Majestic Gardens, and sometimes Indigo. All seem to check the boxes, though I don't know how the Majestic's shuttle works. This week the Lulu is at 102, but the lottery picks are at 130.

Would you wait until next week if ultimately I don't care where I stay as long as it's close and clean, or jump on those prices?

Any recent good or bad reviews on those hotels? Lulu is looking the most likely to me at this point.

I picked Lulu for February. Doesn't help you with being able to provide a review before October though.

We stayed at Lulu in July. Our room wasn’t the cleanest (other people’s hair in the bathroom. Ick) but the biggest issue for me was our door did not shut correctly. My husband had to pretty much push all his weight to get the door to close in order to use the deadbolt. Had I been alone, I would have had to ask for another room. We were a disappointed with our stay.

I stayed at majestic and I thought the shuttle was great. But it was pre Covid

I am at the Hotel Lulu right now, and I am traveling solo. I really like the hotel. Its not fancy but it is nice, the front desk personnel have been very nice and helpful. My room is clean, the air conditioning works great (I mention this because some of the reviews complained about the air conditioner being noisy). It took me 20 minutes to walk to the park entrance...that said I am 67 and not a fast walker. I did purchase tickets for ART as a senior citizen it only costs 2.50 per day and a 5 day ticket was 8.50. The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel entrance. I have used the bus in the evening leaving the park and it's great. The hotel is right next to an IHOP which I like for breakfast. There is a Walgreens right nearby too. I have enjoyed my stay here.

Try Kings Inn Anaheim- clean, friendly staff good reviews.. walking distance to Disney and next door to Cheesecake Factory.

I think I saw your YouTube video review, unless the door thing is a common experience! I appreciate your honest response!

The price went down a bit on the lottery of 3 hotels, plus there was a new discount code to tack on top of that getting the price under $100 before taxes and fees so I pulled trigger...

As expected, it was Hotel Lulu, so looks like I too will be able to provide a review of my stay! From what little information appears out there between blogs and vlogs, it seems there is mixed reviews. My expectations are low, so hopefully it will be a good experience overall! Plus I am a tall 6"4 guy so hopefully I wont have an issue with the doors. The hairs yuck...I'll have to walk around without my glasses, hear no evil see no evil lol!

Thank you so much for your review! That answers alot of my questions about the place now that I know I am officially staying there too, and at least highlights some of the pros column! Im a tall and athletic 41yr old so maybe I can shave the 20 min walk to 15 or less, even with littler legs in tow lol. Even if not, that seems like reasonable walk, and nice to know the ART is possibility too! I havent seen alot of post covid ART experiences for the area, so good to know! Was originally looking for a clean, cheap place within walking distance with a free breakfast but I realized after looking around, I had to sacrifice one of my requirements somewhere and breakfast was the easiest one to axe; so the IHOP next door is a plus if we choose to use it! Thank you again!

Yes! That was us. Lol. Someone else commented on our video that they had door issues too. I think Lulu has a lot of potential if they work out all the little kinks. We did have wonderful customer service. Have a great trip!
