Need some opinions on type of tickets and for how many days.

We are flying in around noon. Have 4:00 reservation for Hoop dee doo revue arrival day. MK closes 11:00 that night.
Arrive on a Wednesday and depart Monday.

Trying to decide should we even attempt to go to a park after the revue. 5 day tickets?
or just plan to visit parks the next day. 4 day tickets?

With it being only a 4 full day trip, should I just plan one park per day or get the park hopper tickets?

We are a family of 3 with a 17 year old son.

Thanks for any suggestions or opinions!!!

How about this? Buy the 4 day single park tickets, and if hours change or whatnot, where going to MK after HDDR makes sense, just upgrade the tickets then.

Same with hopping, budget in upgrading to the hoppers if you find that you want them

How late can you revise your tickets? For example, we are staying 7 full days and have 5-day single park tickets for our trip. We have debated adding a 6th day since the price difference is minimal, but we didn't want to burn out the kids on the parks.

You can add it as long as you still have at least one day left on the tickets. The only drawback is that you cannot book fastpasses for that extra day until you add it to the ticket.

You can upgrade your tickets at the parks any day. If you find on the last day that you suddenly want to hop, or you want an extra day, you can do that.

With a 17 year old, 100% get the 5th day ticket. It is an easy boat back to Magic Kindgom and if he is like most teenagers he will enjoy the evening hours. As far as the hopper, you could always upgrade when you're there if you think you need it. Is your son going to appreciate all the shows and other things the parks have to offer, or is he all about the rides? If its all about the rides then I'd say go with a hopper. If you think he will be into all of the parks one park a day is plenty.

We're a bit in the same boat, so I'd love to hear thoughts:

2/27 - Land at 8:50AM - Currently MK closes at 8PM that day so I think we will have plenty of time to do things.
2/28 - Doing an AH event at Universal - 5PM-1AM
2/29 - Doing an AH event at Universal - 5PM-1AM
3/1 - Plan on Doing AK all day
3/2 - fly out at 6:35PM

Currently we were only planning on doing a 2-day single park ticket, but I'd love to try and make it to HS. Thought about going on Friday morning, but also don't want to be super exhausted since we will be at Universal until 1AM. I don't think a park on our last day is worth it since we would have to be back for ME by around 3-4.

You're definitely in a different boat than what I'm usually in because you only have 2 day park tickets so adding the 3rd day is more expensive. For me I usually have at least 6 day tickets so adding another day is fairly cheap. But I would never want to sit around the resort until 3 the day we leave. Honestly, in your situation I would be buying 4 day park tickets because that is a LOT of down time.

Been going back and forth on which tickets.

As of now, I am thinking single Park tickets. for 5 days.

Follow up questions:
Can you add park hopper at any time?
Can you add even on your last day?
Where do you go to upgrade?

Yes you can add the park hopper at any time. You would go to guest relations at one of the parks or in Disney Springs to upgrade.

I think you can even do it in the app now...but don't quote me.

Yes, you can add it up until the last day, but it will cost $80 plus tax whether you do it before the ticket is used, or at any day during your visit.

If your flight arrives around noon, you will need all the time from then 'til 4 to take ME to your hotel, check in, and get to HDDR. If you want to save the cost difference between a 4 and 5 day ticket, spend that evening at Disney Springs or playing miniature golf, or tour the monorail resorts and gets some dessert/snacks/drinks, watch fireworks from ferry dock at TTC and possibly Electrical Water Pageant; the boat ride between FW, WL, and CR is also quite nice at night. Except for mini golf and food/drinks, all these things are free.

I always add on the park hopper. Mostly for peace of mind. You never know what the day is going to bring, so it gives you so much more freedom when it comes to events, dining, entertainment, weather, etc.

As for extra days, I always book a minimum of what i know I'll definitely use and can always add on days if needed.

Jealous! My trips never seem to line up with those OI events. I would LOVE to do one but I am leaving Orlando on Feb 21.

we Usually go in nov or dec and we don’t add the hopper, but there are a few reasons why and there are also a few reasons why we may add it next time. If you aren’t going in the fall, sept, oct, nov or dec, then I personally would add the hoppers.... because MK is usually open later than the other parks and if there isn’t a Halloween or Xmas
party going on you can always start at another park and end your day at MK and get the most out of your day. I don’t buy them when I go in the fall because MK closes at 6 and by the time you get out of MK around 6:30, it’s almost a waste of time to try to hit another park as they will be closing soon, so with MK parties 4 out of the seven days, I find it a waste. But with that being said...... with all the new lands and rides in each park, it makes you want to at least try to get a few hours in at a couple of different parks a day. If you are confined to one park a day and having a short trip, if you really like something, you can’t go back to that park to do that thing again!! Also after having made a lot of Disney trips, I was good with one park a day as I had already been there and done that several times, I cant say that anymore!!!

I would do the 4 day hopper ticket. After HDDR you can visit Disney Springs, or tour the monorail resorts and watch MK fireworks, or go back to your hotel and relax because you have 4 full park days coming up. The hopper gives you so much flexibility and piece of mind. I even like visiting all 4 parks in one day! It's a fun challenge to try at least once!

I would definitely do the 5 day tickets as they don’t cost much more than the 4 day tickets. If you can get to the park by 7, you can get a fp for 7,8 and 9. When everyone is watching fireworks ride a couple of rides, or, do your 3 fp then head out before the insanity of the after fireworks mass exodus. You can watch the fireworks another day.
