There are too many options!

We have decided to bite the bullet and stay on site this time. With the summer discount, it works out to be more cost effective to stay on site this go round, especially since DVD will start the trip as a 2 year old but turns 3 the second day there. They will count her as 2 the whole trip, so no ticket for her!! Woo-hoo

Anyway, I am losing my mind trying to decide where to stay! !! I really feel like a moderate is the way to go for us, as the rooms just look more relaxing. I could swing deluxe, but that negates any savings, and I just really don't think I want to spend the money for that.

I keep going back and forth between port orleans, carribean beach, and Coronado springs.

The landscaping at Port orleans appeals to me the most. The pool area at caribean beach looks divine. The rooms at Coronado springs have the most luxurious looking decor of the 3.

Help! How do I decide?

When are you going? Who else is going with you? Will you eat at the food court? If so, what do you like to eat? Since you have already picked the category that fits your budget, I would look at those things. Will you visit Down Town Disney (Port Orleans has boat transportation to DTD).

You can find a link to the various resort food courts here.

There might be some differences there that might help you decide.

It will be myself, DD, and DH. We will likely not eat at a good court. We aren't big on breakfast, And will be in the parks for most meals. Our only must do meals this trip are t-Rex and Askershus.

We will be visiting DTD, but we will have our car with us, so that isn't an issue.

I love that port Orleans has campfires and horse drawn carriage rides.

We love the Port Orleans. The boat ride down to Downtown Disney is a nice and relaxing way to travel. The rooms are larger enough and comfortable. We have never had a problem with the buses. If you want to be close to the main pool and food court area, you could always book a preferred room, but I always liked the mansion rooms. They are only about a 5-8 minute walk from the lobby. You can also walk or ride the boat to the Port Orleans French Quarter and use their pool. We also like the look of the Caribbean Beach, but have never chosen to stay there. I would recommend booking a preferred room for the Caribbean beach since it is more spread out.

If Port Orleans is what appeals to you most, then pick it. We stayed there once and we loved it. It is the only non-deluxe we have stayed at (we've done WL (more than once), AKL, GF, Poly, BC and YC). I would happily stay there again. I would love to try one of the Royal rooms there, DD would have gone absolutely nuts over that when she was younger.

We love CSR. Its pegged the moderate that feels like a deluxe. We have stayed there with a preschooler and he loved it. We stayed at a value the next trip and he made it clear he liked CSR better. The pool is cool and the playground is a huge sandbox. We think the buses here are the the best anywhere on property. We like the preferred room near the main building but there are enough bus stops that anywhere is not an issue.

We love POR - it is home when we do WDW. I prefer POR to FQ for atmosphere; FQ for pool and resort footprint with a younger one. Buses work well for us. I have stayed at CBR but didn't like the fact that it was a serious hike to get main buildings/pool.

Pick one and don't second guess yourself. Hopefully the same deals come out at your next trip and you can pick a different resort :o)

FWIW - I have the same problem. Every time we book a trip I go crazy trying to decide which resort to pick. And, once it's booked, I am always sure that I've picked the wrong one. I was so indecisive before our last trip (Dec.) that I threw it out to a family vote. They all picked CSR. (choosing from mods and values) I must have asked them each about 20 times after I booked if they were sure they didn't want to change to a different resort. They were all sure.
Anyway, I loved the resort!
I've also stayed at POR and that's great, too!
Moral of the story, they are all great choices that your family will love and you really can't go wrong! Maybe you could show your DH photos and let him pick. :-)

It depends on what your children like. Older children might like the Polynesian or the Contemporary resort. If they are younger children who love Disney cartoons, Animation resort or animals, Animal kingdom resort.

Check out the royal rooms at POR. My hubby and son in law both thought it made the resort feel like a Deluxe, not too girly. You are also able to use all the amenities at Riverside and French Quarter.

We're trying CBR this time for two reasons- the pool and the newly updated rooms. If you haven't seen the rooms yet, check out the CBR resort thread! We were originally going to do CSR, but these two things won us over. And after staying in the LM rooms at AoA last time, the walk won't bother us (plus, we'll use our room requests wisely).

I haven't stayed at any of the sites you mentioned, but if it were me, I would avoid Coronado Springs. My friend went there last year and really didn't like it. I have heard wonderful things about PO, mostly from this site.

I always rather stay at a value resort. If I am going to spend my money I rather spend it in the parks. I also am a big fan of a resort that has a central bus system. I don't like the ones that have more then one bus stop but that is just me.

We LOVE POFQ! I really liked the compact size of the resort and the option to go to the Riverside and the boat ride down to DTD. However, that was just my husband and I that trip. We also liked the CBR and we picked that over any other moderate because of the smaller kid pool area, which was great because our 2yo (will be 3 in October) loved it in there and it didn't bother him that he couldn't go on the bigger slide like his brother. It was a little more spread out but we all enjoyed it there!

I have the same problem picking a resort!! No matter how many times I decide I keep thinking about it. We stayed at pofq last time and loved it. Good luck!

I'd rather stay at Pop Century than go back to Coronado Springs (kind of a shot at CSR but I really do like Pop). My kids liked the pool at CSR but we all agreed it was our least favorite we've stayed at. We still dream of the day we can go back to POFQ or POR. They feel so homey. CBR never really appealed to us but we may give it a shot someday. I felt CSR required too much walking & I hear CBR is worse. I'd choose any of them over staying off-site, though.

Here's a video I saw maybe can help get you excited! http://www.****************/disneys-port-orleans-resorts-walt-disney-world-disney-parks/

We decided on port Orleans riverside. Port Orleans felt most appealing of the moderates. Port Orleans FL isn't included in the summer savings promotion, so we went with riverside.

I can't bring myself to stay in a value room. They just look so dark and miserable. This is likely the only time we will stay on site, so I don't mind paying a little extra for the moderate.

I'm excited. After reading about all the amenities, including the jogging trail and fishing hole, I fear I will spend more time at the resort than the parks!

I know, we are in the same boat. I personally like the Cartibean Beach. I think we are going to stay in Kissimmie though. The Springhill suites is attached to anothet hotel that has a fantastic pool and splash pad.

Here's my take:

  • CSR: We had planned to stay there on this trip but had to switch! I agree with a previous poster who said it was like a deluxe at moderate prices. It looks beautiful. I definitely plan to stay there in the future!
  • POR: Our favorite - we've stayed there three times, but never with DD. It's our hotel for our upcoming trip! We are staying in a Royal Guest Room, which have neat theming. We like how spread out that resort is. We also enjoy the quiet pools, the large food court, and the boat to DTD.
  • CBR: My least favorite Disney hotel. Granted, I stayed there in 2009 before they updated, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I thought it felt very run-down. The food court seemed small and busy. The pool was fine, but we like the POR pool better.
