Deciding on a resort - family of four with a 2 and 5 year old, value, mod or deluxe?-

Thank you all your thoughts! I am 99% sure now we are going to go with the POP and use some of the savings for a few extra things like a Cape May character breakfast! When I asked my four year old what he wanted to do today, his answer was he wanted to go to Costco to buy a water bottle from the vending machine. And his sister is at her happiest sitting in a cardboard box. :rotfl:So while they're this happy with the simple things, I think we will start small and like some of you have said, wait until they would really be able to enjoy a deluxe resort along with us!

I did a deluxe with my 6 year old, and now she only wants to stay there. So definitely start with a value or a moderate.
That being said, I love Pop Century.

Go with what you like. At that age they don’t need much to excite them. My kids loved any body of water at that age. They actually preferred to stay at the pool over going to a park. When asked what their favorite part of the trip was they’d always say the pool. :rotfl:

We did do CBR when they were around those ages and the splash pad and water slide were huge hits. But CBR didn’t have the skyliner back then (2009,2011) so it was much cheaper. I wouldn’t hesitate to give Pop a try.

We had a 8 night trip to Pop in Oct and we loved it! I think one thing to think about when comparing value and moderates is what you gain by staying at a moderate and if that matters to your family. Two of those being pool slides and sit-down dining.

Our kids are 2 and 8. Our oldest still doesn’t like pool slides and having a sit-down at our resort wasn’t much of a factor. We love the Skyliner and we’re able to use that to visit other resorts for food. Also the savings allowed us to use Minnie vans a few times.

Personally, I wouldn't stay (and pay $$$) BC with kids that age. Of your options, I would go with CBR.

When my kids were your kids' ages, I liked being closer to the parks (specifically MK). Poly was a big hit for us (they were 18m/3y). We have also stayed WL, Contemporary, and AKL over the years which we loved (but I would save AKL for when they're out of strollers).

For reference, I'm going in April with my kids (now 11 & 14) and staying at BC for the 1st time. But my kids aren't little any more (sob) and I think they'll get more out of the pool at this age than when they were little.
