We just got back & want to book again!! - what is the weather like in DEC? I know I asked this before but now that I've gone I know more what to ask. I felt like the water in CC was s bit chilly at first as was the pool- and it was SO windy out on deck-- are you able to swim comfortably in Dec? Can you layin the carribean/pool water & still feel comfortable sun bathing? Thanks so much!!

We sailed Dec 20 - 27, 2003.

Selected Temps:

Grand Caymans: 92

Cozumel : 90

CC: 80

Water was chilly on CC, but fine on cozumel and GC.

There was one sea day where sunbathing was great on board, and one day where it was too windy.

OVerall review of weather: Just fine, especially when comapared to late December in Wash. DC

I have sailed twice in December and had no problems sunbathing or being in the water - Castaway was a bit chilly but didn't keep us out of the water. Definately warmer that Cadillac, MI too!

we'd be doing the 3 night so I really am worried about CC & the ship pools- it's a no go then, becuase it's too chilly? THanks!

Princess -

Ship pool water definitely okay! We did Dec 14-18 2003 and the pool water was very warm. Don't remember it being terribly windy, save for the afternoon and night of CC.

As for the CC water, it was chilly but not freezing. It's doable, and many people were in there.

Our only Wonder cruise was in January of 2003. There were record cold temps that year. When we went to WDW right after the cruise, it was 28 degrees! If swimming/sunbathing is an important part of your cruise, I think December on a Wonder trip will be too risky for you. One of my lessons learned from that trip was if we were doing a bahamas type trip again, I wouldn't do it after October or before late March because I want to be comfortable swimming.

There was only one day in our 4 day trip that I thought was warm enough to let the kids swim. The warmest it got was probably 75 on Nassau day. I think it was about that temp on CC. My DD swam a little bit there, but it was too chilly for any of the rest of us. And on our May 7 day cruise, she LIVED in the water at CC.

OK..... would you reccomend then november? even though that's still hurricain season? & I thought it was uncomfortably hot on CC when not in the water- then it was fine once you were in- at first the water felt chilly but after a min or 2 it was great. It's the first weekend in DEC- & it's really the best time for us- but if swimming is out then I don't know- our fav part of the WHOLE trip was CC- we dragged the chairs into the water & layed there for HOUSR- i would hate to not be able to so this again. I know that FLA gets really chilly but I guess I didn't think the Bahamas ever got that cold- thanks for any info!

november is the end of hurricain season so no worries there. we are going nov 13 on a 7 day and i think we will be going in november from now on. the water in the bahamas and the carribean have yet to cool down too much. water tempsstill should be in the low to mid 70's at CC and even warmer south of CC. i hope this helps.

oh yeah 28 degs in central florida is rare in nov-dec. hecks is rare anytime of the year in central florida.

florida in november compaired to long island is like freezing to warm. i think you will love florida in november. just bring sun screen.

The water was chilly but you could get used to it. The sun was warm enough to lay on the beach in bathing suits. It was very nice. The Christmas decor made everything special, too.
