Hey guys I know this has probably been posted, but what is the weather, crowds, and all out atmosphere of Disney from 12-4-04 - 12-10-04. We have MMVMCP tickets, but what else can we expect? This will be our second time this year.

I was there last December 8-16 and the crowds were fairly low. Most of the rides had waits 5-10 minutes so we didn't really use FP except for rides like Test Track. The weather was fairly cool even though it was sunny, definitely not shorts and t-shirt weather. So if you're going to be out for the entire day make sure you bring a jacket because it usually cools down even more at night.

I can't really think of anything else ... except that there were lots of people there with colds. You might want to bring some cold/flu medication just in case. We didn't find much of a selection at the AKL giftshop :p

HTH!

I like the 5 or 10 minute wait part.. the cold part another thing we didnt' think of. So your saying that swimming can be done or not done?

We went twice last year, with the second time being the first week of Dec.

I would say that swimming is "possible" but not as enjoyable for adults as it is for kids!

If you are out early or late you will definitely want either a light jacket or sweatshirt - even long-sleeved T-shirt is better than short sleeves. I found that we used more clothes this trip. If we planned to go back to the room before dark, we would start out with shorts. If not, we wore lightweight pants and "suffered" through the warm part of the day.

Enjoy the snow on Main Street - it is really a magical thing to see!

Oh, if you are a "souvenir type of person" be sure to get the special items sold only at MVMCP - they have tshirts, sweatshirts, coffee cups, pins... only available for the guests at the party! It was my biggest night of shopping!

Wow I didn't even think about the special souviners. Can't wait.

We were there during that week last year and had a great time. Temps varied during the week from jackets to shorts. DS and I swam once but it was really cool on getting out. Crowds are fairly low and wait times were not bad. PS for resturants however seems to be necessay as many people were turned away with out them. It appeared lots of people were there for christmas activites. MVMCP and CP (we did a package) are great. Take some time to resort hop and check out the different decorations.

I think you can definitely go swimming 'cause the pools are heated! I got sick on the third day on my trip so it just didn't work out for me. I think the worst part about going swimming would be getting out of the pool and going to your room ... brrr!!! :sunny:

Crow11ad,

The 2nd week of December is the only time my DW and I go. As a matter of fact we went during that week for our honeymoon. IN FACT we planned our wedding so we could take our honeymoon at disney at that time. ARE WE NUTS OR WHAT.....

And in my opinion (Just an OPINION) that is the only time to go.. Very little waiting, MVMCP, Candlelight Processional (CP), Decorations EVERYWHERE, Sugar and Cinnimon (sp?) roasted ALMONDS, IT JUST FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS.

As far a weather goes: I am hot natured so I wore shorts all during the day and was comfortable and I wore jeans or slacks at night usually. My wife is COLD natured and more jeans everywhere all the time. At night we both brought a light jacket with us in our back pack.

Swimming.... we did it at numerous times on our trips. But BUNNYFOO (GREAT NAME) is right. You better RUN back to the room.

We will be there 12/6 - 12/12 this year with our 2 year old DD and we cant wait to actually see our favorite place though her eyes.

Hey if you need anymore info about this time of the year for your trip please feel free to ask on this thread or send me a PM.

I hope yall have as much fun as we do at that magical time of the year!!!

BTW sorry for the loong post but I just get excited about DEC and DISNEY

CP is the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. You can reserve seating with a dinner package, or you can just stand in line to get a seat (allow approx. 1-2 hours wait).

The Candlelight Processional is a beautiful event, with guest choirs performing, a narrator (usually someone famous - ours was the man who played Charles on MASH - David Ogden Stiers. He also has done several of the character voices for Disney movies). The narrator reads the story of Jesus' birth and the choir sings Christmas carols that fit in to the story. Very powerful!

If you choose to do the dinner package, you book in advance. Last year they had three different price ranges, with each range having about 3 restaurant choices. The dinner package typically includes a starter (soup, salad), a main course and a dessert. Last year for 3 adults (child who was over 9) and 1 child, at Le Cellier we paid $145.

If you do the dinner package, you have preferred but not reserved seating. This means that you still need to get to the theatre early! We stood in a huge line after dinner (some people do dinner after the show) that started in America and went past Morroco. However, the line without dinner package had started forming before our mealtime (5:45 for an 8:15 show).

We have found them on the NY set in MGM and the taste of WONDERFUL but the SMELL just unbelieveable. We have also seen then on in frontierland at MK

Weve been 2 times in December. Going back this year also. 2000 the weather was very warm 85-90 almost everyday. I rain storm for about 30-60 mins. one night and that was it. 2001 was just about perfect 70-80 everyday a few more afternoon showers but they only lasted 15 mins. max. I guess being from the north I never found it too cold. I think I took a pair of jeans just in case but never wear them.
