If you've been in December (early Dec.) with a baby, what did you bring as far as clothes? I know December is a crapshoot and I'm planning on layers, but I'm wondering if I should bother at all with shorts and tee shirts or dresses or if I should plan to stick to pants and long-sleeve tops with a sweatshirt or jacket option. Asking now because the little stinker is going to grow out of her summer clothes and if I need to get new ones in the next size up, I better do it now before the summer clothes are all gone from stores. TIA!

I usually go in December and one year my DD was almost 1. Honestly, it was a pretty mixed bag. The first two days were really hot and humid. She wore onesies and some shorts that had never quite fit her in the summer time. when it cooled down a bit, she wore short sleeves / onesies with leggings. One day it ended up turning very cold and though I had an extra long sleeve shirt in my bag, I still bought her a $40 sweatshirt. (On the plus side, it was pretty big so she wore it for like 2 years!)

Like PP said, I'd go with long and short sleeved onesies and bring along jeans or sweatpants to cover legs when it gets cool. Don't forget a hooded jacket to keep her head and ears warm if needed. I'd stay away from dresses and cute overalls. The changing tables in baby centers are luxurious, but the ones in bathrooms are cramped. Make diaper changes as easy as possible.

We went in early Dec a few years ago. The weather def fluctuated. One day we were in T shirts and shorts the next jeans and sweatshirts. As others have said layers are your best bet. Also bring a light weight blanket.
