December weekend crowds

I am thinking about a weekend in december. After thanksgiving and before the big xmas rush. I only live a few hours up the road and have been here before so this is not like a once in a lifetime trip. However, I dont want to be in wall to wall people either. For those who have been here on weekends in december, how are the crowds

Weekends in Dec are hit and miss...check for holiday events and remember a lot of local companies do Christmas parties around the resort. In December it seems the crowds pick up a night, when the lights are on full display, but this is just my experience. It's a great time to go, regardless!

I had my worst DL experience ever there early Dec '07 (first weekend of the month). Would never go back during that time (despite great experiences there in Dec '06). It was so crowded it was frightening. You couldn't walk down Main Street to get to the exit after 7 pm; lines to get in stretched to CA. We tried to cut through the stores and there were hysterical people trapped in them because they couldn't fight the crowds. We watched one woman pass out. You had to wait for 4-6 trains to find one with space. I have pix from the Orleans Square train station of a sea of people. I was very frightened for my then 4 YO DD - afraid she'd be trampled or separated from me. We've made many trips to DL (avg 4-6 per year, 2-3 days each) and never experienced anything like it. Fortunately it was not my Mom's first trip or I think she would have said she'd never go back (justifiably).

Was hoping more people could help with crowd levels. Is the one poster right and crowds are bad? I need to decide on the weekend of Dec 12-14 so any help would be great

Last year we were there the week before Xmas, Sunday, Mon. Wednesday as I recall, and it was just great. But, I heard that the Friday before Xmas and onward, were insanely busy.
