What is the weather typically like in Orlando in December....warm enough to enjoy the resort pools and water parks? I know this winter was exceptionally chilly down there (from my in-laws' reports while they winter in Florida). If we plan to go, it would be sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas...though we would not be there during the actual holidays. Are the resorts and parks typically crowded then?

Thanks!!

If you are under the age of 25 the weather is probably considered awesome. Warm but not to hot for adults. I wouldn't be caught dead in a pool in the winter. They are heated but the air temp makes you old. (I couldn't even go swimming in the carribean in November). You'll probably need some kind of jacket for the evening hours.

The parks are crowded but the affect is dependant upon you. Are you going to be in the middle of the crowds!

We went the first week of Dec. in 2004 and found it to be perfect most days, but a few days were too cold for water rides/swimming.

Having been in the fall, spring break time and summer before I must say December was a great time to visit. We were there the second weekend in Dec and really experienced no waits. We did not even really need to use the fast pass. I think the longest we waited was maybe 10 minutes, and I am not even sure what that would have been for. However it was COLD- we arrived on a Friday and it was warm then, but my dd had her winter coat on most of the trip. Needless to say we did not do any swimming. I think we were lucky to hit 50 degrees. However I would visit again then because the crowds were non existant and the decorations and special programs were wonderful! I would visit the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT for sure, and Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party is a fun event too!

We were there the first week in December of 04. The Saturday were arrived at POR FQ, it was chilly, but my kids still swam. By Tues. it was 83 and nice enough to enjoy Typhoon Lagoon. We usually had sweatshirts for evenning. By the time we left the following Saturday, it became cool again. The crowds were light and except for the POP Warner kids running around the pool unsupervised, we had a great time!

I've been down to florida on many decembers as my brother lives in Tampa. I've seen temps in the 80's, 60's and this last december we froze in the very low 30's during MVMCP. In '03 we didnt even need jackets. You should plan on it being too cool to swim but bring the swim suits anyway. I went swimming this december one morning when there was fog rising off the pool.

When we ent this past December 16 - 21, most of the days were around 65 - 70 and no rain (most importantly!!!), but one of the days we really were chilly. But we were at Disney World, so it was fine!!! :flower:

We went the 1st 10 days of December in 2000 and the weather was wonderful. Cool in the morning, warm during the day mostly 70's, cool again at night (needed a sweatshirt). I would say prepare for anything because you never know- it was 85 on our last day! Of course that was 5 yrs ago. We went in Jan of this year and had to have winter coats, hats & gloves!
BRRRR....

We've gone the first or second week of December the past 7 years. I've seen high temps in the low 50's and high temps in the low 80's. Mid 70's is normal. Usually not much rain.

Thanks for all of your replies and info!!

I like the sounds of 'little rain' (we've been twice in June). Given the fact that my kids jump right into our pool in May before it's heated, I shouldn't be worried about them not wanting to swim if it's a tad chilly. Though I realize it potentially may not be the same consistent warm weather (or, any warm weather, at all) we've experienced in June and this past October, I've heard so much about the Christmas decorations and how beautiful it is in December ....that.....I just want to go BACK to DISNEY!!!
