December Use year

We have a DEC UY.. we love it.. we normally vacation in Feb/March and in May/June.. we have no problems with it!

Let me say to you "Welcome Back!" We have two things in common: VWL as a home resort and a December UY there. While I haven't done it yet, I really want to go to WDW during the Christmas season, and there's no place else that I would rather stay than at VWL. I think having a December UY there is a double bonus in that situation!

Thanks very much! I could only remember people discussing the cons of the December use year way back.
We used to own points at VWL and BCV. I want to own at the VWL again even though the time is shorter than BLT, etc.
I love the feeling of that resort! I know that if at 7 months out I can only stay there I would never be unhappy about it.
I am only starting back with 50 points right now and will add on if I can afford to at a later date probably at a different resort.

We have December and since we usually travel in Jan or Feb it is what was recommended. I must say twice now I forgot to bank points because the banking deadline is when the kids are off from school and a summer vacation is being planned, so it slipped my mind. It's also a little more confusing then other times of the year because your use year is listed as last year for all but one month, so until I got the hang of it, I was thinking 09 were my banked points when in fact they were my current point eligible for banking, got it? Hum, no wonder I got confused.

We have a December use year ... we purchased in May of 1997 and at that time they were offering Dec use year. (I have no idea if we could have asked for a different one ...we were new to this game! )

We normally do not vacation in May ..we like October - December, with December being our most common travel month. We find a December vacaion works just fine with a Dec use year ..No problem canceling and having points returned to the use year. October and November trips take a little more careful planning, as we need to pay attention to banking deadlines should there be any indication we need to cancel an Oct or Nov trip ..Thankfully, we have not had any issues.

We've added on 4 times ... all with Dec use years. We thought about changing, but just find it easier to manage all one use year.

If we had known the importance of use year back in 1997 we would have asked for an April or May use year for our vacation habits ...but we were told that use year really didn't matter ..
