December Tours?

I am going the week of Christmas. While making my ADR's a CM suggested doing some of the tours to "offset" the crowds. "If you do some of the tours, the crowds won't affect you that much." Is this true? Anyone try this? Thanks for any input. So far we are doing MVMCP, but that isn't a tour.

Have never done this before, but I do have a similar plan for our Dec. trip. My 11 yo granddaughter really wants to do the Behind the Seeds Tour, but the only time I can work it into our schedule is on a Epcot EMH morning, a definite "red light" day, according to TGM. But I figure we are just going to take the tour, then have lunch at Akershus. Then we're OUTTA THERE! I think it's a good idea if there really is a tour you want to do, but I wouldn't want my tour time to interfere with my time for park attractions. You do get away from the masses for awhile, but if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, the crowds will still be there when you're tour is finished. Have a great trip!

My DH believes we will be spending 16 ours at MK on Christmas Day. I have informed him "HE" can, but the girls and I won't. That being said, I know the afternoons get VERY crowded and I am afraid if we leave, we might not be let back in. I was thinking of doing the Family Magic Tour to avoid some of the crowds, but that is over at noon. We do have lunch scheduled at the castle on Christmas Day so I am planning, just overwhelming...too much to do, so little time! That and I am sure it will be wall to wall people. (My 6 yo last year was whining, and I did the classic "Why are you whining, we are in Disney World? Her reply was "All I see are butts.") Hope you are having fun planning and have a safe and magical trip!
