I am planning a trip next December. Are all the decorations up a certain day? Christmas events started a certain day? Any help would be apprectiated.

All of the decorations will be up by Thanksgiving. The Candlelight Processional and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party usually start Thanksgiving weekend.

The other little Christmas program type things are always up the first 2 weeks of December which is a wonderful time to go.

We're going Nov/Dec next year too. Don't forget about the Osbourne Lights in MGM too. I think this year the MVMCP info came out around June maybe? That will list days and events for that time.

We arrived to start our WDW holiday on December 3(we stayed until the 13th), the one thing we did (which was not planned) was go to the park the day they are taping the WDW Christmas parade for TV. :earseek:
It just so happened they taped on Sat. Dec. 4--our first day and first time at Magic Kingdom--but we had to go to the Magic Kingdom as this is what we were waiting for! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo
When we first went in at 8 a.m. we were disappointed to see that Mainstreet was not the Mainstreet we had seen in so many pictures, couldn't really see the castle because of all the equipment--they were already taping, crowds lined the streets-you couldn't stop and watch because the parade crowds were preselected---there were huge lights & cameras everywhere! So instead of "absorbing" the feel of your first time we were hustled down Mainstreet out of the way....but this was a great advantage to us!
Adventureland was practically empty so were the other parks we soon discovered!!
Before 11 a.m. we had literally walked on a lot of the rides which you normally have tremendous wait times-Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Phillarmagic, Dumbo, Winnie-the-Pooh, Buzz Lightyear and more!
Here we thought we were missing so much by being shuffled down Mainstreet but really it was the best thing that could have happened! By 11:30, Tomorrowland and the rest of the park were extremely busy but we did so much in such a short amount of time and saw celebrities as well!
We all thought that was great to go that day even though it wasn't planned!
Decorations and holiday spirit are aplenty during this time as well! We found the crowds were really not bad at all our entire visit. Our only difficulty was Pop/Warner--nothing major--something to consider though. :scratchin
We went to MVMCP on a Thursday and crowds were light-got to experience a lot of Disney Christmas!
Highly recommend ::yes:: this time of year to go--it was wonderful! :D

Be sure to check out the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. It is a wonderful presentation of the Christmas story with a huge choir and a celebrity narrator. I suggest getting the dinner package which gaurantees you a seat at the show. It has become so popular that people line up hours before it to get in.

Also, check out some of the resorts decorations. WL is wonderful then. GF is great too, especially the life size gingerbread house. Many other resorts are also decorated nicely but those 2 come to mind.

We have been to WDW 4 times in early Dec and it has become our favorite time to be there. It is so festive. Be sure to go to MVMCP at MK as well. Lots of fun with a definite Christmas spirit in the air. Fireworks and parade are extra special.

We will be there next Dec too.

Have Fun!!
