December in DW

Hi Everyone, I am taking the family to DW on the first week of December and want to know how things are? What is the weather generally like? is it crowded? are there any recommendations as to special things to do? any info would be greatly appreciated!

Howdy there and welcome to the DIS!! We went last December 7-14 and everyone told us to be prepared for any kind of weather and boy were they right!! It never got very warm any of the days so most of the time we were in pants and long sleeved tops but there are other years where it may get into the 80s. It also rained a lot - which is very unusual for December - but left us unprepared. So plan on packing a little bit of everything!!

For activities - there are so many I'm not sure where to start. We did MVMCP, the Candlelight processional, they have Christmas everywhere so be sure to check at each park for a list of what is going on that day. It was very uncrowded for us and we still used fastpass for some things but for the most part didn't wait in a lot of lines.

We were there last year from December 13 - 20 and it had been raining in the days before we arrived. Our first couple of days were pretty cool. We did MVMCP on Sunday, December 14 and it got down to 45 degrees or so which is cold for Florida but it warmed up nicely in the days after that. By the end of the week we were wearing shorts and t-shirts during the day. My best advise is to pack for all seasons.

We thought it was the most wonderful time of year to visit Disney because the crowds were very light and the decorations were beautiful. In Epcot, each country had their version of Santa Claus telling what their customs and beliefs are which I thought was neat. We also saw the Osbourne Lights and went to MVMCP. We really enjoyed both of these.
