December EPCOT hours?

I notice on EasyWDW and Kenny the Pirate sites for Park hours in the first two weeks of December that EPCOT is open from 9-9:30 and Illuminations is at 9:30. Is this normal? I thought the first two weeks were slower times so I'm wondering why the park is open later?

Yes it is normal. The closing time and Illuminations are pushed back to 9:30 from the day after Thanksgiving through December 30, to allow for the three nightly showings of the Candlelight Processional.

and if you are looking for a slow time you are not very likely to find it in the first 2 weeks of December. It's not going to be that slow.

When do they start selling tickets/packages for the Candlelight Processional?

No tickets for the Processional. It's included in Epcot admission. The only way to get priority seating is to purchase a dining package. These usually go on sale in July.
