December Discounts Wilderness Lodge

For those who tried to get a discount in December at the Wilderness Lodge, were you successful? This could be room, package or free dining.

I booked last September with the AAA room only discount when my trip was going to be a solo trip. I've been wanting to add on days now that a friend is coming with me, but unfortunately there is nothing left at my rate.

We were booked WL with a free dining pin, but with the room only discounts released today it was cheaper room only, then add on the rest. We rebooked today WL room only, add on base ticket and meal plan and saved $300, we plan to upgrade our tickets later if we decide we need to hop.

I tried to upgrade a room only reservation for the night of Dec. 12th to WL but we are a party of 5, so I was trying to reserve a Jr. Suite, I think it is called? Unavailable for that night.

I tried both FD and room discount for my deluxe room (jr suite) and was told that the room type was not included in the deals.

Ah, well. We aren't changing our room or resort and are ecstatic about going and experiencing the WL CL service. But ... it would've been nice to get a deal out of it ...

This is the first year I have heard of where there were so many discounts available at WL during Christmastime.


I got free dining, but I used a pincode I received via email 2 weeks ago.

We originally had WL booked for 12/6-12/13 using a 40% off room rate PIN code. We booked it....hmmm..i am thinking in April or May?...We received another PIN code last month for Free Dining. We canceled our WL ressie and booked POP with the free dining pin for 11 days. (and saved over 1K with the switch) More time and less money.

We were able to get a AP rate for 12-23 thru 12-24, then we have to pay rack rates for the rest of the trip. We saved about $400, would like to have saved more. Maybe if attendence does not pick up, a new round of discounts will come out. I find it surprising that all catagories of rooms at the WL are still available for Christmas and New Years. Usually the resort is already booked up. We will see.

Only one night for us, the last night of our trip doing at WL Dec 1-2, and got courtyard bunk beds for $212 with an AP pin I had.

I just booked WL Club Level 12/19-23 4 nts @ $339 per nt.
Room Only. Pretty good deal!
