From what I have been reading the disount for December- general public code- should be coming out in the next week.

I have reservations Dec 15-22 at the fort. Does anyone know if these discounts apply to the campground...staying in a camper???

If you have received the discount in a past years, do you remember how much??

thanks ;)

I can get the Disney Visa discount now...which usually turns into the general public discount. I just called and there was some VERY limited openings in the campground for the discount. Specifically Dec. 18-23 preferred loop. Since we have APs I only had her figure a one day ticket in the package. The price was in the $600 range.

Yay for me! Called at the crack of dawn this morning using the codes released today.... got a 10% discount off our campsite for our Dec 11 - 17 stay.... yippee!

One thing that is curious, though, and I thought I'd bring it up here.... the CM, when I asked about a AAA discount, said "Have you asked about it for those dates before?" I said yes, when I made the original ressie. She said "If there weren't any before, there aren't any now". I said "well, with all the cancellations, I thought I'd ask anyway" She said "when reservations that had a AAA discount on them are cancelled, the available spots go back into the central reservation pool.. .they're no longer eligible for the discount".

IF that's so... all the people that make extended, optimistic "maybe I can go" reservations using AAA discounts, then cancel them, are dumping the AAA discounts so that they can't be used at all.

Is this clear as mud??? :confused3

I am not sure how to do this, new at DISboards. You said you got discounts from posted codes and saved on your Dec. trip. Are you going '07 or '08???
We are trying to get in FW campground for Dec. '08 and not having any luck, can you help??? Know any tricks??:sad2:

I haven't tried for December '08 yet, but they should be wide open. When I made my December '07 reservations in March '07 I was told I could pretty much have any dates in December at that time. Usually, the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve, the week of July 4th, and Easter week book up to a year in advance, but they must not have released the computer system that far in advance yet, or are you asking for a discount for December '08. There would be no discounts of any kind released this far in advance, but the dates should be available if they have been released in the computer system.

This is probably too late to respond to your question, but I called the day the AP rate was released to see if I could get it applied to our 12/20-12/24 reservation and was told it wouldn't apply. I was able to get it applied to our 10/19-10/21 reservation for MNSSHP. However, that discount only saved us $17 for the entire three night stay...less than $6/night. So you probably aren't missing much of a savings if you can't get it applied. However, since you are checking in earlier than we are in December, they may let you apply it to your stay. It doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck.

Welcome Tiggeriffic! I don't really have any tricks..... you can just keep calling, people are cancelling and rearranging their vacations. Real life happens, and plans are adjusted. Just put it on your calendar to call every week or so, and ask what's available for your dates.... and don't be afraid to book a few of the days you need. There's a good chance that the remaining days will open up.

HTH!!

We're going Dec 11 - 17th, and I called yesterday morning at 7am to get the GP code applied to our premium site..... apparently, it's about a 10% discount, or site was $391 before discount, and $351 after.

HTH!~ This is our first trip to FW, and I'm SOOOOO excited I can barely stand it. Trying to get the dh to build me a mickey lampost light.... too cool!!

Where did you find the code? I didn't see one for the General Public yet. Maybe I am not looking in the right place. Or maybe GP isn't referring to General Public?

DebbieT11- What discount are you talking about? I saw in the other post you said GP. Is that a general discount. I just didn't know there were any new ones released. Thanks for your help.

I found it on the "codes" forum, under a thread titled "general public codes released today"...... And yup... the GP=General Public, sorry, sometimes I use random abbreviations for stuff! :rolleyes1

This is now open to the general Public as well.
Code ZQG package no dining
Code ZQH package with dining

Thanks DebbieT11. I see they are for the packages. I am still waiting for the "room only" to see if we can get a discount. It was better for me not to do our reservation in a package.

So far, they haven't released any room-only discounts yet. (Or campsite-only) lol

Okay so I have twice to apply the GP code to my ressie (Dec 15-22) and was told my current discount is cheaper than the new one. First off I don't have a discount...I am booked at rack rate for 7 nights with 5 day park hoppers.

It appears that this new code is using the new 2008 rates, where you pay each night for the season you are in. My trip overlaps b/w pre-holiday and holiday season.

I am a little upset b/c I was told I could apply a code when it came out...not the case. How can they use the 2008 rates when we are still in 2007???

Has this happended to anyone else?? Anyway to get around it??

That doesn't sound right. How many adults/children (age 3-9) are on the reservation? What type of campsite are you in? (or are you in a cabin?).

Yup, it's happening. Apparently, once you apply a code to an existing reservation, it is calculated at the new, per night basis. Technically, yes, they're still allowing you to apply a code to your reservation, but they're calculating it differently to arrive at the end cost. Sorry! But it's happened to a number of folks on the December Codes Thread..... I was quite surprised to get even a 10% discount on my December ressie......

That's very weird. I've saved my clients lots of money, adding the code to their reservations. Maybe I've just been lucky, and it's worked for their particular dates/resorts. :confused3

I am booked for Dec 15-22 campsite 2 adults 2 kids (ages 3 & 6) with 5 day park hopper. My trip is paid in full...I don't remember exact amount little over 1300 maybe $1314...and some cents. When applying the code it is over $1400. I even asked if I upgraded to dining and used the dining code would I be coming out ahead...is the dining also discounted. I was quoted over $2100...so that means the dining is not discounted!!:confused3

It really upsets me... I didn't expect a big discount. I DEFINITELY DIDN'T EXPECT THE PRICE TO GO UP!!!!!!!!!!!
