So my grandmother and I are going down to Disney in December (just the two of us), and I've been planning out where we want to eat, trying to get a nice balance of comfort zone restaurants and new ones.

She's a Disney fanatic but she knows what she likes and what she is comfortable with, and this truly is her vacation. However, I wanted to change it up a bit and throw in some things that she wasn't used to so that she could relive some of the magic of Disney.

So here's the plan:

Fly in on Friday and do MVMCP (no credits used)

Saturday: 3 credits
(since this is the busiest day we're avoiding the parks and doing La Nouba at night)
  • Breakfast - Chef Mickey's (1C)
  • Lunch - Chefs de France (1C)
  • Dinner - Raglan Road (1C)

Sunday: 4 credits ||| 7 credits
  • Lunch - Cinderella's Royal Table (2C)
  • Dinner - Citricos (2C)

Monday: 4 credits ||| 11 credits
  • Breakfast - RM Service
  • Lunch - WS Princesses (1C)
  • Dinner - Marrakesh (1C)

Tuesday: 2 credits || 13 credits
  • Lunch - w/ an Imagineer (not on plan)
  • Dinner - Flying Fish (2C)

Wednesday: 4 credits || 17 credits
  • Breakfast - Donald's Character Breakfast (1C)
  • Lunch - Yak and Yeti (1C)
  • Dinner - Jiko (2C)

Thursday: 3 credits ||| 20 credits
  • Lunch - TBD (1C)
  • Dinner - Narcoossees before MVMCP (2C)

Friday: 1 credit ||| 21 credits
  • Breakfast - 1900 Park Fair (1C)
  • fly home )=

Comments? Recommendations? I mostly stayed in her comfort zone, but Jiko is going to be a bit of a stretch for her and I don't know if it would be too much for an 82 year old foodie.

Thank you. :lovestruc

What time does your flight get in? You want to make sure there is more than enough time to get to MVMCP. Will your Grandmother be too tired after the flight?

Chef de France-isn't that in Epcot? I thought you didn't want to go to a park that day.

Jealous. Looks great! I agree with the post above though that you better make sure you get there in time to enjoy the party! We have been close before and our dinner ran into time for the party and it was pretty upsetting because every minute counts once the party starts. The other question is a concern as well. We have booked a lot of W.S. restaurants and found that if we arent already back there, that is a really difficult place to "book it" to get to.

Where are you staying? And do you have a car?

Saturday looks like a lot of going from place to place...and this is coming from a 29 year old...I don't know about an 82 year old.

Also, unless you are staying at AKL...Wednesday looks like a really long day depending on how you space out your meals

We don't have flight plans yet, but I'm fairly certain there is a plane that lands in Orlando around noon, so that gives us time to get our stuff, do some unpacking and relaxing before heading into MVMCP.

As for Saturday, I should have clarified a little bit, I figured that Epcot would be the easiest park to go to in the afternoon to meander around a bit and my grandma loves that restaurant so I wanted to figure out a way to fit it in. We also both love World Showcase at Christmas so giving ourselves a few extra hours in there could be the difference between seeing Norway and skipping Norway (we ran out of time on our last trip and had to skip past Norway completely. >.<).

We do plan on renting a car, because that's the only way to really get around with her wheelchair. I'll have to look into rescheduling Wednesday, but I think our dinner plans were fairly early.

On this trip we kinda wanted to "collect Mickeys" in the way that we wanted to find Mickey wearing different outfits and get photographs with as many different Mickeys as possible. I don't know how many there are or where they are, but I thought it would be a fun little addition (hence why I added Donald's Breakfast). So far I know of:
  • Mickey - Magic Kingdom
  • Chef Mickey - Chef Mickey's
  • Safari Mickey - Donalds' and CMM
  • Sorcerer Mickey - DHS
  • Santa Mickey - MVMCP
So there's five. I always wonder if there are more, because I think getting Mickey in different outfits would be a fun scrapbooking or fun frame to make. (=

Thanks for all your input, I really appreciate it.
