December Crowds?

Hello!
How are the park crowds during the week (not the weekend) before Christmas? I'm thinking December 19-23. How do they compare to August during the summer holidays? I'm assuming that between December 25 and January 1 things must get horrendous, so I'm not even thouching that idea. Thank you!

We went last year the week before you are considering - we went on Saturday 11th - Thursday 16th December and the weekend was absolutely unbearable, incredibly packed, but the weekdays were absolutely fine. However I think the kids in England and France will have finished school for the dates when you're suggesting (maybe not the first couple of days you suggest but I'm sure they'll have broken up by 22nd/23rd, not sure of exact dates) - if the schools have finished then I would expect the parks to be unbearably busy - any chance you can make sure your trip is while kids are still in school?
